So I've been working on this Worthless Facts
site as kind of a hobby and I figure it is
about beta version 0.8
So please let me know what you think,
comments, and suggestions welcome.
Oh and here is the former mascot that I
created in Flash and he was all set to be
animated, but I scrapped the design of
the site that included him.
Professor of Wisdom or something like that
Thanks for the feedback |

I hate to do this cuz I know a lot of you
don't like when people post in their own
thread to get it back in rotation, but...
I would really appreciate it if I could get
some feedback on the layout of this site as well as some general opinions about the
content, likes / dislikes, etc.
Thanks again!

Hey, I've had one guy tell me that the text
on the site is too small and hard to read.
Does anyone else feel that way?
I do know this guy wears glasses and I
suspect that he uses a .30 dot pitch 14 inch
monitor with the resolution set to 1024x768. |

My monitor is at 1024x768 and I don't have a problem with it, but my sister feels that it's a little small.

The text is fine. Standard size one font is always readable, if it isn't readable for you, then either a: your text settings are too small, b: your res is too high for you monitor, or c: you need glasses. |

i don't think the text is too small either. and you're right, the voting idea is really cool, and i think investigating the more popular 'facts' would be a cool idea too.

That site is hilaaaaaaarious! My sister and I have decided to spend our morning surfing the worthless facts, laughing, and eating peanut butter from the jar. (As if we had anything better to do....)
Keep up the good work!

Your post fills my heart with joy...
I'm just glad that something I've done
has touched the lives of at least two
people. Especially two people who eat
peanut butter straight from the jar.
I will sleep well tonight!
p.s. do you use a big wooden spoon for
that or a small shovel? |

I am gifted with an exceptionally long... index finger.
My sister, however, is partial to her Tupperware spatula. And if you are interested in purchasing said spatula, it retails for only $10.49 Canadian.
Have a Tupperrific day!

P.S. We even submitted a Useless Fact. Unless, of course, you are a pig. In which case, it is not only useful, but rather pleasurable.
He he he.

i found the site pretty entertaining, altho i think it would be more fun to look at with some kind of graphical mascot.
just wondering, do you do any kind of checking up on these 'facts'? also, have you been going out and finding useless facts of your own to add? i think all the ones i saw are from the forum here.

Yeah, I would like to add some kind of
animated fun to the site, just not sure
what yet. Maybe if I'm lucky Synj would
create some kind of tribute.
I haven't done any kind of checking on the
facts submitted here in the forum. That is
supposed to be part of the fun with the
viewers voting on the dregree of truth of
each fact as well as how worthless they are.
I would say that a good 50% of the facts
have been submitted by me from sources I
know and most of the ones I added are
actually true.
I think it would be fun to have like a
weekly unmasking of a fact, when a fact
gets 20 votes or so we research it and
post the truth. |

I was also thinking of adding a small icon
or different colored text which lets you
know which categories have new facts in them
and then within the category which facts
are new.
My question is how should I denote the new
facts? Any fact that gets added has a 'new'
icon for a week? A day? I'll have to think
about that....any advice?
Hey sorry this has kind of strayed from the
digital art theme.... ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/wink.gif) |
