uhm... by digitalized you mean modified or manipulated no? (because normally this would mean you just scanned it )

really looks a bit blurry, I doubt that this is just the JPG compression. Maybe you used a compression level that was too high (too low comp. number) or its the prog.. what did you use to save the jpg?

I'm sorry to say that I don't like it very much. Looks like a collection of filters (render lighting effects with bump on etc.)trampled over whatever the original was (scan?)..
I suggest you try painting something.. much more satisfying I'll grant you.

Danny

Well...I mean manipulated. I took the photos while down in cancun and then manipulated them and did filters...

Also, I can't paint worth a damn, thats why I am going to rely on photography. Also, I used Photoshop 5.5 to do the Jpeg compression, and i did it down pretty low because my site is modem-friendly...

And is there anyone that likes it?

Not everyone here uses Photoshop to paint with, for people that are just beginning it's important to go in and play around with stuff. Everyone who starts out is amazed at the filters.
I guess you can tell by the responses here, how people feel about obvious uses of filters.
Once you get the hang of Photoshop you'll start to see other uses for it.
If you're wanting to do photomanip, then look at other sites of artists who do photomanipulations.
here are some links to get you started on thinking in that direction. I suggest you try some of what these artists have done, it's a great learning experience and a good way to become more familiar with Photoshop.
As far as painting goes, you can only get better by practicing, try doing traditional painting instead of using the computer. You will benefit more from it.
Here some links...
http://www.adobe.com/print/gallery/main.html
http://www.howardschatz.com/index.html
Maybe those links will help inspire you..good luck.
as for compression, make sure you're using "save for the web" and turn off the blur option. A setting of 30-45 jpeg comp. will give you good results on loading times.

Samdragon has some really thoughtful advice, Sproket. I, too, encourage you to keep working at this, because you just never know where Photoshop will lead you! I like the lizard a lot. What kind of lizard is it? (I know jack about reptiles....) Photomanipulation requires an eye for art composition, too, so keep at it. Just because the objects themselves aren't original, doesn't mean you can't make your own thing out of it, because this is an art form, too. Keep playing with PS. Try to learn a bit about the tools. The only artistic advice I can really give you regarding this pic (bear in mind that I'm very early in this media myself) is to create a bit more separation of colour so that one object stands out and draws the eye.

Have a good one!

Jess

Thanks for all the info...as to what it is:

It is a lizzard, then I took that and put in on a picture of a Mayan Ruin (if you look closely you can see the top of the "rocks" is actually a temple) then I put a buddy's head on there, making the dragon feel, by the lizzard supposedly eating the head, then I think thats are another friend's eye on the lizard!
