Hi there.

I wasn't planning to put an update of that pic up so soon but I am completely stuck on how to approach non-reference lighting.

Alot of people have put up some fantastic concept stuff where the lighting is really quite fantastic. I'd like to learn to improve the lighting on the buildings and objects in my pictures. (not even started on that castle yet ).

BTW - Loki, I did the clouds from scratch... with a little reference of course he he!!!

nice redo.. i do like the clouds better

well ive read in the other thread, but i too look at that picture and reminds me (of the base) of the statue of liberty.. colors and it being in the middle of nowhere with water (probably).. but those do look like toes sticking out :P (near the bottom left)

Looks good now - except for one thing .. that building - i really dont like it.
I think the image would be better off without it.

Other than that, the image is really good.

Wow, looking great. Love those clouds. I still think you should do something to blend in that mountain, though... I'm thinking 1) a stronger reflection, and 2)thick mist at the base. But it's looking awesome so far. You've definitely got this style down.

Whoa! I love it. I like blue a lot
The clouds are great too. I agree with Tinusch, mist would be great!
