Sorry man, but I don't know what do you mean with "suck it down".
Sometimes I have problems connecting with napster, although everything else works. I find no reason. In some hours or mins it works again. I think it's a problem with finding a good server and connecting to it. Maybe it tries to connect to the best server, which is offline at the moment?
I hope this helps you.

Krefelder, it's strange, I can enter the page, although it is going slow...
Usually I have probs and everyone else has not. Lucky day? Hmm...
I'm visiting their "Service status" page:
---------------
Service Status
The Napster Service is currently: UP
Service Announcements
11/03/2000 2:09pm
The service was not accepting new connections from 12:00 - 12:15pm PST. The problem has been fixed. We apologize for any inconvenience.

A prgrm like napster?
just as good?
the only thing is, you can find anything on napster because everyone knows about it. (It has gotten so much publicity lately. and you can find almost any song that exists...)
oh well, this App is just as good?
thanks,
ian

Don't worry about Napster.. i'm sure the case with mp3 sharing isn't over yet!!
See, 99% of all people buying mp3 players, mp3/cd players, and mp3 juke boxes is because they want to listen to music they DOWNLOADED!
And i'm not even sure if that 1% exists that bought those expensive electronics to listen to "legal" mp3 songs, because such don't exists to my knowledge!!
I can guess about 200 mp3 devices were made by different companies (big companies too). Now think, they get a LOT of profit from those because they cost hell of a lot. Would those companies want to lose money if mp3 sharing was concluded to be illegal?!!!
If i was a president of SONY or Diamond, i would say no :)

err Ian are you asking me ?
if so, "Napigator works side-by-side with your favorite Windows nap client, giving you an up to date status of all nap servers on various networks, including the new and openly free Opennap Network and popular Napster Network." -www.napigator.com
So in other word you can choose the napster server you want. In the listing of servers you get ping, number of songs available, number of gigabytes, number of users and a few other things. Double click on the server you'd like your Napster software to connect and there you go, just like old times.
