hello, just signed up today and thought id post a pic i just did with painter classic. nothing special, just trying to make good clouds. i really need to improve.

Tripod doesn't allow direct linking of images. You should get a better host which does :-)

I'm not very good so I can't give amazing comments like some people here can, but I think the problem with those clouds is that they look more like mountains of clouds far away. That could happen of course, but it doesn't happen that often. If you look in the sky, you'll see there are bands and strips of cloud which are in perspective. Imagine a flat plane above you, well the clouds would be like painted bits on that plane. They would be distorted by perspective, and I think that is missing from your painting.
