Hi there Freddio.
I did a cut & paste link and the image appeared okay. If you want I can put it on my server to bypass the Angelfire stuff if you're having a problem?
As to the pic, I think it is wonderfully rendered.
Who is it of? It reminds me of John Knox, a famous Scottish Protestant theologian... though it's possibly your grandad?
I think it could do with a much higher level of contrast. Also, the shadow on the jowel line, where the cheeks meet the upper lip under the nose seem to be too heavily shadowed.
Other than that, an excellent study that has a nice Renaissance charm. |

space ports is worse than angel fire.... Instead of an angel fire logo any outside links go straight to their homepage. |

Looks cool! I love the style and brush strokes!
I agree with Ceenda, it would make it more striking if there were higher contrasting colours, but it still looks very good

I think, from the name the file (galileo1.jpg) that it might just be Galileo :-P
Great painting btw!

I used to do that all the time. Draw pictures for Classes that weren't art. I found that My English assignments got a 10-20% mark boost if I gave them a Title illustration. ha ha
By the way that really looks like Galileo. (or at least the paintings of him) |

The image needs more contrast in places. It is very well done and captures a certain "antique" style. Very well done, just work on the contrast.
