Ok. I drew this mostly just to be silly... but here's my 30 minute rendition of that chick everyone was obsessed with in the comicon thread.... (Or "The Nanny", whichever you think makes a more convincing portrait. ;)

Here are my two cents. the first one took 18 minutes, the second one 12 minutes. All I am doing is blocking in the biggest shapes minus the contrast of value, working within the shapes to better form it, then defining any surface detail that may bring out more interest. Tear em to shreds people... |

Well, maybe we could rip em to shreds if they didn't kick so much ass.
Fred, just looking at those is educational. One thing I take away is how you exaggerated some of the colors. Thanks |

I've never really tried anything like this before, but I kind of had fun doing it... This took me 10 minutes, 39 seconds. I started running out of time on the background, as you can see...
Thanks for the great pic, Rinaldo |

Thanks for the nice pic, AliasMoze. I went a little overtime on this one... It took me 23 minutes and 3 seconds.

Speed pic of the day;
20 minutes cutoff. Somewhere along the way I seem to have lost a large portion of his neck and there's a few spots that (in retrospect) could do with the odd brush stroke but generally pretty happy.
Spooge, if you only do one of the SPEED PICS, do this one! I'd be very interested to see how you'd approach this one with a hard 20 minute deadline.

20 minutes for Spooge painting is like 2 hours for you or me. Still, I'd be interested in seeing what he did with fifteen or so.
Come on, Spooge. Whaterya, chicking?!? Bwok!
Sarcasm, of course |

Hey, this would be a good occasion to take snapshots of the pic, say, every 2 minutes - ten snapshots. So I can see the process better? Just make it into a series of images at size 1/3 or 1/4, and post it below your actual pic?
Pretty please with sugar on top? :-)

How the Fu@%k do you take screen grab in win2k, I just can't seem to find the bloody command. Too used to a mac.
If someone can tell me then I'd be more than happy to take a few grabs.

I'm not use to being quick. This took me 25 minutes. The bottle neck is too skinny and it sucks.

Hi there.
This took me about 15 mins. I kinda ignored this thread at first, as I'm not too much into the speed drawing thing, however, once I got started I really got into it.

Here's my version of the lighthouse. It took a little over 30 minutes.
I'm gonna keep practicing. It's amazing how some of you can crank out such great material in just a few minutes.
