Taking time out of damn assignments, I whipped this up between various other tasks. This is Gozza, guitarist of Pornopoly. (My previous one was of the singer. Find the old post here) It's left faceless on purpose, as that's how the guys preferred Murf. Tackled this one differently aswell. Feedback welcome (I can feel plenty coming on @;-)

seems to me that his hair is the same color as his face in your pic , and in the photo his face is more red , i think it would dramatical improve the pic if you add in some more contrast to the face ,cuz right now the hair bleeds into the face, and maybe give, drawing the eyes a shot, i know you said it like a trade mark , but hell why not try it, it can only make things better.. |

gozza the gozzarian?
*little ghostbusters inside joke*
to the pic:
first you made a very common error in copying a photo: you "thought".
If you let your mind come into play to tell you "this ear would look better if i made it like this and I cant make his head so high you cann easily make some errors if you don't know the anatomy basics very well.
So the head is too small, it should go higher up.. now at this head-size the eyes are at the wrong position (i recommend fred's head drawing tutorial for reference).
The color value:
You have the highlights right (color wise) but the shadows in the photo are much darker, the lack of shadows makes your image "washed out" and "flat".
Also the mid tones should have more red value and more saturation.
just add those darker shadows, make the head a bit higher and post again, I am sure it will look better then.
Cya

Okies, I've added some 'redder' shadows, and it does look quite better than the original IMHO. I've raised the head a bit aswell. The hair's been touched a little, but not to my liking (still more to be done, of course). I'm figuring at the moment I might try and complete all of this, eyes, mouth etc.

They're kinda Korn-y *laughs* Check out the Sounds section on their page. It's a slow loading page due to their lack of knowledge in image compression (however much I tell them @:-)
Probably an acquired taste... |
