Hi, gang! It's been a while since I've posted (but I come here everyday). I really should start taking more of an active role here! This place rocks.

Anyway, as with most of my pics, they're anime-ish. I'm not sure if most people like that style, but I love it!!

I hope you enjoy it. As always, feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Thanks!

Nice, g:tech! Very clean and cinematic style you have going. I like seeing your posts.

His arm doesn't quite look like it's balanced (or at least not comfortably) on his leg. I shouldn't nitpick though

Do you have a portfolio online anywhere?

Thanks Manik!

He's not really resting his arm on his knee exactly. He's kinda got it wrapped around it a little, but still resting on it a little. I know it's a weird pose, but I sit like that a lot. Probably should have made it a little more "typical".

As far as an online portfolio, not yet. My current site has a bunch of old stuff on it that's really embarassing to look at today (lots of filters and such). Feel free to check it out if you want (it should be in my profile), just remember that there isn't any of my newer anime stuff on it yet. I really should update it! : )

Btw, don't feel bad about "nitpicking". It's helpful as long as it's posted in a constructive manner (like yours)!

More feedback is definitely welcome. I don't post as often as I should!

Your stuff is amazing...
And that pose ai'nt so wierd, I sit like all the time... But then again I'm a pretty screwed up person...

The only thing I could see in this picture as a "fault" is his leg, shouldn't it deform against his stomach instead of going up on the side of the stomach?

Anime is good and U do good Anime

Leg makes me uncomfortable but doesn't detract from the image in a huge way.

Umm....yeah, post more

That's so awesome. It has a lovely serene feel to it, and seems to be a perfect blend of anime and rather traditional comic drawing. I especially find the ultra-clean coloring to be very nice. It must take a determined mind to do that

as always, g:tech, this is really great!

there is one thing that bothers me though.. its the values of the colors of this guy and the rock. This looks like a nightscene (background) but the guy and rock look like they are lit by brilliant highnoon daylight...

Q: did you ever work or do you work professionally as comic artist?

I think you could make some really kickass t-shirts and stuff with your characters. I'm sure i'd be a happy customer

Cya

Wow! You guys are great! What's even more amazing is that you remember my stuff even though I rarely post! WOW *sniff!*

29A: Good point. As I pose myself at this moment in this stance, you are indeed correct about the leg. I'll fix that in future drawings

Rinaldo: Thanks!! Glad to hear other people like anime stuff

Spitfire: I love the sharpness and cleanliness of anime. It just feels right to me.

Nex: Excellent observation. You have no idea how many different backgrounds I tried. Daylight, sunset, evening, clouds, no clouds, etc. This is what I finally came up with. Unfortunately, during all that tweaking, I didn't compensate for the evening colors on his body and the rock. No, I've never done art professionally either. If I had it my way, I would be doing animation. I would die a happy man if I could take my pictures and turn them into animated movies. I don't feel that I'm good enough yet to become professional (I learn something new every time I draw), so I'll keep trying. I'm my own worst critic, too But maybe if I keep learning, one day I'll end up alongside Disney or some other animation company creating worlds and characters that will inspire others like they have me.

Also, I wouldn't mind doing some print work with some characters and whatnot. Oh yeah... I have another picture that I'll post a bit later, too. It's not quite in the same vein as this pic, but it's still fun. I'll post it a bit later!

Thanks so much for your feedback guys!!

OK, here's another pic I did. This one isn't finished (I got bored with it).

It actually has a title: A Gamer's Natural Habitat. This was done in Illustrator, where the one above was done in Photoshop. I'll probably stick with Photoshop in the future, though Illustrator has its charms.

Here's the stuff that has yet to be included: Obviously, this guy is really into his game. If you survey the room, he's hopped up on Buzz soda, BBQ chips, pizza, and candy bars. He's playing his newest game, Deth Blast IV, and he's quite intense about it. All that sugar, soda, and junk food has him completely wired. He's supposed to be yelling "DIE, SCUM! DIIEEE!!" but I never got around to adding the text. Couldn't think of a way to draw it and make it fit.

Anyway, this pic is intended for those of us who play video games a little TOO enthusiastically

Feel free to comment on this one too if you like. By the way, as was pointed out before, the leg isn't quite correct in this pic either (makes sense, since it came before the one above!). Funny to look at my mistakes

nice image, although your work resembles american anime rather than traditional japanese anime...your style resembles the work of Disney animators and such, like the guy who did Hercules :]

I think the second image would look incredible if you made it night. Make the whole room dark and illuminated slightly by the TV, with the same light reflecting off of all the objects in the room. Maybe a bright glow emanating from the screen, too. I think that would give it much more depth and atmosphere. I think it would definitely be worth it. But it looks good as-is, anyway, so whatever you wanna do with it.
