Hey all.. sorry for the somewhat off-topic-ness of this post, but I strongly urge you to have a look over at:
http://fargo.itp.tsoa.nyu.edu/~danny/mirror.html

This is so cool. I just love the idea behind it. Mixing digital and analogue media at it's best if you ask me. I'd love to have that hanging on my livingroom wall..

Danny

Yeah, I read about that in wired a couple of months ago. It's some cool stuff,If I remember right it uses a camera to project the image through a computer, in turn, the computer turns each little wood chip to match the image. I wonder what would happen if we sent a spooge image through it..hahaha, chips would fly everywhere!

i wasn't able to get the url up but i attended siggraph last week and they had it up and running to play around with. i'd have to say it was the most impressive thing i saw during the entire conference filled will
presentations of incredible effects from the likes of ilm, pixar, pdi, and dd. seeing in motion, sound and all was enough to stop anyone that passed it. the only road block for each of us getting one into our living
room is that it took the guy 10 months to make.
