Anyways I never been much of a digital art guy aside from 3d stuff but after seeing the stuff being done by spooge, fred and others I thought it would be fun to try it. I prefer to work in tradiotinal stuff: pen & ink, acrylic, gouache and the occational oil. Anyways the pic is from reference, I like how the values are coming out. I fudged the drawing of the tank completely I was trying to get used to painting with a tablet. Anyways any suggestions would help, laters.

DON'T STOP THERE!!!
You haven't fudged the pic Holliday, you just haven't finished it!
Just go in there with a smaller brush and refine it a bit. Still cool as is though.

thx for responding. It's funny how the same problems you have in traditional media follow you into the digital realm. My main problem is I tend to get into details way too soon so im trying to stay loose on this one. |

I really like the loose look Doc.
Adds so much more interest to the painting for me. The tanks base is uneven as you said.
But that aside I really like it!

I wouldn't go in detail
just put something in front of the picture
(a mouse for example and draw this in detail)
so you can use the distance effect (proper english?) of an photo
and get a realistic touch

Dhabih Eng V.2?
(Doc Holiday was Dhabih's old nick if I remember correctly.)
Looks nice. I'll be taking some painting classes in school soon, so hopefully I'll be able to do that stuff soon (right now I'm just starting to play with it in Photoshop).
The tank looks good so far, though I can kinda' see a couple places where it's botched... but unlike when using gouache, you can go over it easily. I've no idea what the background is, but I like it too!
Keep working on it. Fix what you think needs to be fix, move on.
