Hi,

I think you did a very good job with the page. I'm a big fan of simplicity, and you can see it in my own page. But when I do clients pages I usually tend to saturate the page a little more.

I think the page is a little too washed out, there's nothing contrasty, or no way of directing your eye. I think you should choose a few parts, or images and decide where you want the person to look first, second, etc.

I agree with the brushmarks being too thick also. Last, do you think you can make the page a little less long? if you can avoid scrolling it's usually a good idea. That way there's no chance of people missing your bottom bar, which I think is very useful.

All in all I think the design elements work very well.

Atreyu.

if you make the brush stroke thinner, i would recommend trying to not use the brush. all the other lines on your page are crisp, so personally, i would also make the box around the text cripst as well (or arced, like the one to the far right of the page) to keep the theme going. but see how it looks both ways. good luck!

Looks nice. I would take all of that stuff on the left and categorize them. Alot if it can go together under one main link. Just an idea.

lookin good! however, the only thing that i would change are brush strokes around the disclaimer and the "county of LA" cause i personally think its way too thick. it detracts away from the image too much. other than that, its a really clean page.

There are going to be some rollover menu pull downs and all , but thanks for the feed back guys! ..

the page is up! woo hoo!
Well first off i would like to thank everyone for pointing out the boxs lines were way thick, i went back in and redid a new page, diff colors and all tageted 800 x 600 and all that, and well this is the link to it.. http://isd.co.la.ca.us/test/county/new/county.htm tell me what you think of this one, what is going to happen is if the guy like any of them , they will be targeted at 800 x 600 res, so it wont scroll, and the top frame will have some other links in them , thinking of adding in a fash thing at the top so he could click and have some nav bar animation some up and all , again i thank you all for the feed back it really helped, also i tryed to incorporate somthing to move the eye were i wanted it to go , like Atreyu said,, anyhow thanks again talk to you all later.

Hi all

Well, i like the colors, think you have choose a good combination.

Mmmm, I think there are some problems with the distribution, lets go :

The left menu y veeeery big, i think you should compress it a little. Im refering to categorize more, yeah, i know is not easy, but try to do it. Youll be able to put it all in a 800x600 res and it will be more navigable. I think you could put some options on the upper frame. Like the about, Information, etc... four or five options will reduce the menu.

Mmmmm, i think colors are great, but i dont like those strokes around the text, i think they break a little the composition, maybe you can use a veeeery straight thin lines, and obioubsly text justified.

I love the last photo, maybe you sould put it more visible the first time a person goes into the page.

The background is perfect.

And, finally, id add things to the upper frame, maybe some photos in "screen" mode, or in lighten with low opacity.

One of the things most clients request is that the menu has to be visible completely in 800x600 without scrolling, the most important texts, and the most important graphis, hehe, not easy.

I recommend you to preview what you are doing in a browser, putting all the composition as background. You will see how it looks.

Bye"s" to all ~
