Hello
I'm not going to bother with the whole "I'm new here" thing. I've been watching this place for a while and thought is was time for me to join. Here's what i do
*and if you have composition ideas or whatever, knock your bad selves out*

it's done with a pen tablet. I was trying for oil, but water color works.
I just wanted a dark character, someone i could putin a dark setting to create a mood.
he's supposed to be an artist/writer, i deliberately made the mix of painter's pallete and writers pen so it would be hard to distinguish.
An i believe those where my only thaughts on it.

Hey
The chin, mouth, nose and eyes all look good, but they relate to each other in a weird fashion.
His left eye is a bit out of place, should be closer to nose, and a bit farther away from the eyebrow.
Next thing I see is the hand, in which the uppermost finger is too big compared to the others, but I don't think it needs any more defining other than that.
These are just small suggestions to a nicely done character. The problem, however, is with the background. It is way too bright, stealing attention from the face and the hand with the feather.
Composition and clothing gives makes it look like a portrait made a hundred years ago.
btw. looks like photoshop to me.

He is clearly vampire! Obviously dipping that feather in freshly drawn blood to write his mistress an edible letter. Who else could write in nearly total darkness? The lit fog behind him is eminating from the moon perhaps.. he'd not be so close to sunlight.
Sorry if it's way off the scale, but that's just how I see it!
It's a nice picture, thanks for posting.

Hey nice, I like the atmosphere. Kinda looks like a cross between to antonio banderas and mel gibson to me. Inspired by Interview with a vampire perhaps?
