Could you explain and/or give us some "step by step snapshots" of how you do your "rough photoshop sketches"? You know, like the knight on the ball of his feet one, this kind of sketch. Like what do you start with, what do you draw first, etc? Don't bother making a new drawing for this, but the next time you illustrate something could you please take snapshots of the steps (starting right at the beginning!) :-)?

Thanks in advance.

Daniel

Daniel, I did a sketch of the pipes underneath my sink a while ago and I saved each step into a frame of a movie file. I posted it here, but I dont have the movie file any longer. Maybe someone else does and could post it? There is a link on my site to a similar deal with a painting of a bridge. it was done in painter and is a little clumsy, but you get the idea. The link is broken, and I will fix it now cause I just figured out how. ftp.goodbrush.com is still not working (Immi?!)

I'd be interested in this too. If anyone has it (and someone is bound to), please put it up somewhere.

Here are the two animations that Craig mentions;

Note: Spooge's work, not mine.

Spooge, do all of your images begin as "rough" as the sink, and then get refined with each pass? Or if you're aiming for a more finished image for the end result would you generally do even the early stages fairly tight?

Sumaleth.

Wow. Thanks Sumaleth; I had never seen the sink movie.

It's interesting (and educational) to see inside Craig's mind when he paints. I noticed he made some mistakes he had to correct, which is very reassuring for me
