-I want to buy a graphic pad
but I don't know which one
some suggestions would be nice.

Some specifications on what I should look for when I buy one
would also be a great help.

Btw what are the BIG differences about a
cheap and a expensive one?

Battery in the pen?!?!?!

AAAAAAAAAAARGHH... The HORROR... the horror........

Mate.. whatever you do, get a decent tablet. They'll prolly cost you more than your allocated $150 dollars, but damn worth it. Last thing you wanna save money on is your tablet. Wash cars, flip burgers if you have to, but get a proper tablet. Like Wacom..

Do a search for "Wacom" on this forum, or you will suffer a beating from the people here who have seen this question 500+ times.

Remember, a tablet won't automatically make you better at art. I personally find it HARDER to use a tablet, while it is less time consuming.

I've recently bought a Wacom Intuos A4 tablet for 350. Alot of money yes, but I'm already producing better work, though buying a tablet doesn't automatically make you a better artist. The reason I bought one was because I find using a mouse to be restrictive, using a digital pen enables me to create more detail.
Obviously the dearer tablets the better they are going to be but there are some cheaper tablets that have had good reviews, the Wacom Graphire pen and mouse set springs to mind.

I have the Wacom Graphire mouse and stylus set (tossed the mouse) anyways, it's fantastic. Suits my needs just fine. It's a small tablet, maybe 5x5 or so, but it works out great. Cordless, batteryless stylus with pressure sensativity. Flip the pen over and you're in erase mode. Nice drivers for Win 98, NT, and Windows 2000.

Pick up the USB version if you're using Win 2000, I highly recommend it. I paid $100.00 for mine at Fry's Electronics.
