Got an older Wacom tablet from my boss, tried to do another dragon.
Second attempt at this type of thing, first time I'm using a drawingtablet...

Any comments?

My first thought, to be honest, was 'Dinosaur' moreso than 'Dragon'.

I still stereotype Dragons as being meen looking mofo's with sharp horns, big teeth, (rest of stereotype here).

Your dragon is quite tame looking, almost pensive. Nothing wrong with that though.

I must say that I am not fond of the dropped shadow that you've added in. Mostly at the base of the neck . . . it makes the head look like its floating.

The eye bugs me a bit and the base of the neck seems too thin, some muscles seem to be missing. It would be nice if the skin was more detailed, more reptilian . . .

In the end I like it though, not a bad job at all.

I have to agree with speve-o-matic. It does look more like a dinosaur than a dragon but you could say that it's a young dragon. As it is it's still a good piece of work considering that it's your first time using a tablet.

thats a GREAT pic (cept the neck area), but like they said, it doesnt look like a dragon :/

i guess if you wanted to make it look like a more generic dragon, you'd make the eyes look more menacing, and make the region above its mouth smaller, not so broad like that. and on most "generic" dragons, the underlip hangs foward slightly, with those big-boy teeth sticking out.

hope i dont get flamed for telling you what generic dragons look like.

To me, he looks like a dinasaur about to break out in tears which to me gave off a cartoonish effect. I really love his eye and puffed out cheeks.

Throw some of those batwing type ears on it and it will look like a dragon.
