Hi...er...my name is Henrik Holmberg, 19 years old. I haven't spent a single day at an art school (sometimes i wish I would have). But you can't really find a good one in Sweden. I'm currently working as a Graphics Artist at a swedish Game Developer. http://www.uds.se
For now, I do 2D and 3D, but soon I hope to be able to do concept drawings/illustrations only. If I have to do some 3D, It'll be about 2D textures.

Im 15 ,soon to be 16 and I draw in my spare time, I also take Art for GCSE and am going to take it for A-Level as well. When I leave school I am hoping to study graphic design and become a graphic designer, unless I suddenly get real good at skating, get sponsored by Salomon, get on their international team and win the X-Games.

Did my first drawing at age of 3 and have gotten a slight bit better now at age 28. Worked in the computer game industry for a couple years as a graphics artist (for PC, N64, and PSX). Self-taught. If I had the chance to start it all over, I bet I'd still screw up. Go to school. Learn your trade.

I'm a 27 year old.... wait, 28 year old (as of 30 mins ago), living in Melbourne Australia.

After doing half of an engineering degree I got into doing 3D animation for TV commercials which I did for 5 years. Now I'm a contracted writer/designer/modeler/animator/artist/producer/director (seriously for Fountainhead Entertainment (www.fountainheadent.com), working on a very very cool project.

My video player is busted.

Row.

spoogedemon: YOU'RE CRAIG MULLINS???

I've been dropping by your site for ages and never realised! He he, it's amazing what you find out.

Well, here's my bit -

I'm male, 20 and currently at University doing a degree in BSc Computer Sciences.

I did get in to Art college but chickened out at the last minute (I don't think my art master - who even let me use his cool DeVilbiss Super 63 airbush - ever forgave me for that ).

Photoshop is quite new to me so I'm just getting used to it right now.

I'm currently doing VR (ooh, there's a word that's gone out of fashion) telebanking work for Edinburgh University CCIR.

I'm 20 (21 in a week) I've been drawing since physically possible, though it seems in the last few years I've completed about three pieces.....its all in your priorities I suppose. Which I should try and re-arange. I do tech support for hp (NZ), its been so bloody slow lately (not complaining), that I've been finding time to whip up some sketches.....quickly hiding them when the boss comes in....nice.

Hi All, I'm new here my name is Sterlin. I'm trying to become an artist I've taking a few art classes, and I'll be taking some more this fall. I work for the Boeing Co here in Seattle, Washington USA, and they're good enough to pay for all my classes so I'm happy about that. My weapon of choice is an old PII 350 64meg 10gig 17"monidtor win98 and a small Wacom Graphire tablet. The programs I use are PS5.5, AI 8 Painter 4, Bryce 4, and Poser 4.
I have always had a preference towards comics, although I love traditional art form as well. I've been drawing for a while but really started to pick up the pace more then a two years ago when I discovered all the artist online you guys have motivate me too become the best artist I can be. Some day I hope to become a professional graphic designer and commercial artist.

Hmm,

I'm 24 years old and live in Norway.
I work as an animator and character designer/modeler at a games company called Innerloop Studios, which both micke and I am small part owner of. At this moment we do one game for Sega and one for Eidos...
But, I do way to often get into freelance work as well, which sucks up all the time I want to spend in front of the TV or to do personal artwork...-but that will change !

Hmm, enough meaningless information...sorry.

Hi, I am going to Art Center in July. Can't wait to see you sweat it out in front of a live studio audience...hehehe...

My name is Ron Lemen. I am 30 YO. I currently live in San Diego, CA, and work as a conceptual designer for a gaming company called Presto Studios. I am currently a lead designer for Myst 3. I also teach art classes at www.wattsatelier.com, and I am a freelance illustrator/designer, working with many great companies doing art most everyone will never see unfortunately. I am hoping here soon to expand my market and get involved with some more public friendly clientelle.

I have been a not so "Pofessional" illustrator for 16 years.
10 of those were in the action sports industry. I was the art director for Tony Hawk's Birdhouse Projects for several years. I was the shoe designer and team manager for airwalk shoes, art director for ride snowboards, and various other big skateboard and snowboard companies. I helped launch a snowboard magazine called Blunt, now owned by Larry Flint. I owned an illustration firm in Encinitas called CIA, collective Independent Artists...there I worked with Foxx, Disney, Honda, and a whole bunch of neato companies.

I have worked with Wildstorm comics, then Image, and hoping to get going with DC soon...

I do concepting these days, did some cartoon concepts for a cartoon never airing on Foxx, and for some obscure television shows that hope to be seen...

I have an 8 year old girly golden retriever named Sally, my Chewbacca whereever I drive.

I am going on single soon, and hopefully will be illustrating a book for wildstorm comics soon. Why I put these two together, I don't know...

I drive a 1993 Blue Honda Civic with 272000 miles I put on it myself, and the thing is about to call it quits on me. It is my 7th car living in San Diego, I have been here for 12 years. I bought a lot of Lemons, no offense to myself, and drove them all into the ground.

This forum has taught me to type, and my next job will be a secretarial one since I seem to be enjoying the typing thing...gaaak. did I just say that???

And I can finally end this with, I love this forum and all the great talent, and soon to be talent on here. I hope this forum blows up huge, and becomes quite the world artists community. It already is to an extent. I think grand with what I love, I apologize.

Ok boys and girls..here we go.
My name is Eric and I'm a alcho..no wait, wrong group. Sorry.=) I'm 24 years old and I live in Memphis, Tennessee. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember though not as much here lately. My professional experience has been mostly wrapped up in advertising. I used to be the lead graphic artist for a newspaper in Georgia. I'm currently working a crappy job and getting qualified as a certified internet webmaster and site designer. I figure it will let me do what I love (design) and be less stress and less hours than working at a newspaper.

This forum is one of the best ones out on the net today. The talent that is here and the willingness to help the others improve has made me take a step back and see that the world isn't as cynical as I thought it to be and that people aren't here on this earth just for themselves. So thanks. Ok, ok..I'm passing the microphone on to the next person now...

I love you all! This is the best online digital artist community ever! No forum comes close to it!

As for what I do... I am just a 16 year old trying to squeeze as much stuff as possible in my brain, so that I could become one of the successful people here (in my POV anyways). I belong to GFXArtist Network (So it everyone) and I worked my substitute teacher before. For 50 bucks!
I reside in Vancouver and is considering going into post secondary training for any kind of multimedia related digital industry and eventually find a job or start a company.
I don't want to sound like an asshole. But I am in a dilema, because I am practically good at every academic subject in school. I take 4 advanced placement courses and went 2 years ahead on my InfoTech course. And all A's on every school subject. But again, when I see you guys, I feel alot smaller.
And oh yeah. I do 3D, webdesign, web animation, art, logo design stuff.

I'm leaving my signature there too
My name's Valerio Santinelli. I'm 22 and I'm a professional programmer (nowaday employed as a system administrator/internet apps coder) but I've always been in the game development community here in Italy and I recently rejected a place as a 3D Engine game programmer at Trecision (the largest game-developing company in Italy).
I'm a good guitarist ( my friends and a lot of other people could tell you that I'm telling the truth ).
I'm a beginner in the drawing/painting community and I need some serious teaching in that field, but I like it a lot and I'm always trying to improve.
If you want to pay me a visit, come to Bergamo (via Rovelli 36/C) and look out for me

My name is Dave. I was born in Botswana and I lived in or around southern africa for 14 years. I live in Canada now. I'm 19 and after 2 years of pretending to go to school, I think I'm actually going to go soon. I'm thinking of CDIS...you Vancouver boys will have heard of it. While I'm on the subject...Ron, Craig...others, you heard anything about this school at all? It seems to have a good rep in the Vancouver area.

I like to play rugby, and read books. I run (ran? will be running again?) 3D Palette with my buddy Flasher, and together we plan to take over the digital art world (Muaahahhaha...err sorry, i get carried away). How? We don't know as frankly, we aint the best artists, but we are just about morally bankrupt enough to be able to succeed.

In addition to 3DP, we're starting up a site called skindom which specialises in skins and a site called Tutorial Armory which will be a nifty tutorial site that doesn't suck.

I don't know what I want to do or be in life, but I would imagine it would have something to do with the internet (READ: my own porno site.)

Fred, Spooge, Micke, Joachim and Timur are my heroes and I light incense, and pray to them everynight. You should do the same.

Oh, and a word of caution. Watch those darkpath boys, Kyri and Cos! They have some problems man!

My name is Cos ( u woulda never of guessed )born in London England. Currently 22 years old but I turn 23 on the 6th of december so if anyone would like to bake me a cake be sure to write it down.

Always been into comics n comic art and drawing from a lil nipper. John Byrne and Mike Zeck were probly my first art heroes, xcept for my bro who has always been a great influence. Kinda stopped drawing as much around when I was 15, went through a lot of bullshit. Started work as a trainee electrician when I was 16, did that for around 3 and a half years. Till I had enough of it and realised it wasn't for me.

Bought me first comp in 98 and started getting into photoshop and slowly back into my drawing again. Did a graphics course which I've just completed blah blah blah. Anyone still awake??

Yeah so on I go just trying to improve my skills and artwork till maybe someone will say "cos, I gizzing you a job!".

Immi - You just upset we wouldn't draw you those naked bald musclemen you wanted for your private collection.

Hm, I must've been tired when I replied - I don't think I quite got the point of this thread then, somehow. So my first reply was terribly pretentious. Sorry.

Anyway. I'm just a 17-year old kid (Did it again) from Finland, with a little formal education on this visual stuff - I go to a high school with an emphasis on the visual arts, and will be starting my final year soon. I fins the thought of a career quite repulsive, but I intend to try to get further education in the 'arts' after high school, and see where I end up. So basically, I'm still waiting for the starter gun to fire.
