I'm extremely lost and i think i'm going insane trying to find the answer? Where in the world is Dhabih? hehe Nah it's not that although i do wonder? (Blah!) dude has no time even for his forum. Anyways to get to the point, the reson why i posted this was to
find out what a concept sketch is? or concept work for the deal i really, i mean really have no clue and i would love to know, cause i've seen lots of work done like it by (vortx,Fred/Micke/humanclay/Francis) and i love it i really wanna get it to that! oh yeah i saw that book starwars it had many drawings i think they were concept sketches! Damn amazing stuff.....what i want to know is

1. what it is?
2. how it works in an industry?
3. if theres any tutorial on how to?
4. what materials do i need? (i know talent =P, and yes i have that and more i just don't know hot to put my ideas in to paper that kills)
and finally 5. just tell me anything that has to do with it? please...

SpOok3y, the edit button is the 3rd icon (sometimes 2nd one) at the top of each of your posts. Just mouse around, you'll find it.

No one can tell you what a concept sketch is.

You have to do it for yourself.

Err.

Concept art can be one of two things. Very simple, really.

1) A rough draft of a drawing, where you work out the positions of the figures and everything, before you do a "final" version. (this applies more to traditional art, where a person might do a pencil sketch on paper before doing an oil painting.)

2) Art that's meant as a guide for someone else to work off of. And example would be (in the context of video games) a color drawing of a monster, which would later be modeled in 3D. (I guess that's pretty much the same thing. Hmm.)

A concept sketch for me is basically the general idea. nothing fancy done to it. The final, if there ever is, is usually adjusted shading, lines, basically just tweaking the sketch.
The reason why I say if there ever is a final, is because I have a tendancy to bastardize a sketch or something when trying to draw the same thing over again.
