I really like the "anguish" painting. It really shows fantastic emotion in the face and the color adds to this feel.
The sadness piece does not work as well. It just doesn't have the same impact as the first piece. I think you should paint it the same way you painted the "Anguish" piece. You don't have to have tears to show sadness. Anguish is more sorrowful than sadness though so I guess that is one reason that "anguish" is more powerful than "sadness."
I don't know what you could name the last piece either. Maybe glowing eyes? |

Hrmm, those are way too monochrome and blurry. Practice some more! Learn the importance of details, colors and lighting. |

I did these pictures as sketches which is why I didn't spend time adding details or color. I did the first two to attempt to create some emotion and depth to the subject because I had been failing to add those qualities to previous pictures. The last one was just to practice drawing the female figure. As for lighting, I don't understand what you see wrong with the lighting.
lotor, what do you suggest I should have done differently with the sadness picture? Should I have attempted to emphasize her emotional state through more facial expressions, such as make her eyebrows more slanted? I had started the sadness picture a few weeks ago, and only attempted to finish it because the tear caught my eye when I looked at it a few days ago. |

I like them
Anguish, with it's blurriness holds a lot of mystery I think and the black&white is always
striking. well done
