Working on the corner of my room and I can't seem to get the paintings on the wall at
the correct angle -- I keep thinking the top of the frame should be straight ?
Can anyone help an individual blinded by perspective?

(Oh yesh, don't mind the bed,
it's still being made) (Har har..)

Obviously, I'm not the best with perspective.

I think the problem with the frame is, you need it to go with the wall. Tilt the right side down some. Have it go with the wall.

The top of the picture on the wall does not have to be straight. It has the same vanishing point as the bed and wall planes.

Your wall looks turned out, greater than 45 degrees.

I dont know anything on fixing that problem but I am wondering how you got the texture on the wall. I've always wanted to know how to do that.

I'm working on the corrections.. but to quickly answer your question Shousetsu,
I put together my saved PSDs
and created this -- please bare with me: (sorry for the huge size)

I try to achieve a dry brush texture
with a restraint color palette,
so I avoid using blurry brushes.
In the example, I high lighted
the textural brushes I use.

When starting, I brush layer and layer of subtle color until I'm satisfied with the overall direction. In the end process
(or near), I gently brush soft lines with the Sharpen tool.

Hope this helps

Well, after that last image, here's another big one.

Here's a little 2 point perspective of how things "should" be. It looks like the back wall and the side of the bed are done with 1 point perspective, but then the end of the bed closest to the viewer is at an angle ... something that would not happen with 1 point. Also, as you can see from this image, based on the side of the bed, the vanishing point is WAY off to the side of the image... a big no-no for one point.

The green lines are the lines the wall should follow to be correct perspective wise. The red lines are the bed. The yellow lines are the pictures... I didn't do the bottom/top of the two smaller image just because I'm lazy.

One of the things you might want to notice is the window, using this perspective, is WAY off, as is the corner of the room (since I based the perspective on the side of the bed). As dawn, if you keep the corner of the room where it is, or at least keep the bed where it is, there'd be a rather large gap between the bed and the wall.

P.s. I realize now that I made a slight error with the wall/bed bottom edges. I failed take into account the legs of the bed, so the green lines should be where the bottom of the base board is.

this is done quick, but your problem is fairly straight forward. Find your horizon line (red line I drew) you can find it by extending established angles. I took the bed, based on the assumption that you're happy wiht it's composition. Extend back the lines that are the sides of the mattress (green lines I drew). From a top view of the bed they would be the left and right sides of it. Wherever they converge within the imaginary plane of the drawing, will determine the horizon line. (red line) That vanishing point will be the same vanishing point for all objects that fall parallel to one another in the room, the wall, pictures on it, etc. Then project a second vanishing point (VP) to establish the other angles of the bed. I don't have much time, so forgive the rushed description, but I hope this helps. Pick up a book on perspectie and study the chapter on 2 point perspective, that will definitely help you out.

I cn't wait to see it finished. I love the textured wall and the curtains.
