www.okiaoti.freeservers.com/images/itologo.jpg
Hopefully I'm going to make this pic in to my new main webpage screen. I need any kind of suggestions about placement, color, composition, text... I'm horrible at Graphic Design and just wondering if you ppl would stop and look at this pic if you caught a glimse of it? I thought the negative shapes in the figure were interesting, but I don't know if the text and pic as a whole works.
Any input would be helpful!
oh yeah you have to drag the address to the top, sorry

I am 'Forbidden' to see the image.
Damn I must be one bad mutha to be forbidden .....
You might want to make a quick html file w/ the image so people can view it.
By the way, from the thumbnails on your site, you have a *very* nice style. Is that cat-image water-color? Very cool

Just paste the URL into ur location bar.
Very intriguing. The main text is a bit unreadable, but I still like it overall. Perhaps just choosing a 'creepy' or 'mysterious' font instead of editing one may be a good way to go...

Hey thanks,
yeah sorry about the forbidden crap, eventually I'll get a better server...
The Wilds(cat pic) was done in oil and acyrlic... although it takes awhile if you click the thumbnail to enlarge it, should say all the mediums and size.
Yeah I'm extremely bad at designing text so I usually just pick one. The Logo should probably stand out more, yes?

I think that all you have to do to get rid of that Forbidden nonsense is chmod your directory to 755. See if that works. |

Hi Aiko.
I don't think it was too bad. However you could maybe make the text more clearer
and redable by taking away the wavy effect on the logo. Also try more spacing between Aiko and Ito.Hope this can help you in some way. By the way i saw some of your new drawings on your site. They look really good

hey, Aiko's back. been a while.
Yes, negative stuff has a certain alure. I think you should focus on that if it's what you like. At the moment it just looks like a garden variety layer/filter job (even if that's not what it is.) Start with the pose pic, maybe alter some of the saturation in it to make those shapes you like a bit stronger; but leave it solid, as the foundation of the logo. Have it stand clearly over the rippled, pinched text at the back. Keep the title clear too and put it at the bottom (it looks like a splash/intro pic and that's where I'd want it. but I could be wrong.)
That's what I reckon anyway. Avoid unhelpful complexity. (with any luck I'm making a little sense) |

When it comes to logos, contrast is key.. er, well that and simplicity... Anyway, IMO the composition would look much better if you made a screen layer with orange Aiko Ito text and placed the text directly over the existing logo. A solid white logo would work well too, but usually the inverse of the dominant color in the composition works best to create contrast and color ballance.
