Whilst I wouldn't get that mad at hew I would say this. It would be a shame if it only took alcohol and/or drugs for artists to perform their best.

I imagine that a lot of the artists on this site put alot of thought and ideas into their work. I think most of us would prefer to be inspired rather than out of control.

Yes, I believe you, a really 'drunk-action'...

But 'believe it or not', I have really a lot of expirience with all sorts of drugs, (hey I live in The Netherlands, everything is posible here!). But I don't perform better on drugs (well not in art:-) and I think most people won't. Exept "Herman Brood" a famous Dutch artist who is really popular in Holland, he's 'always on drugs'...

But it's a fun idea, but not to taken to seriously I suppose. Besides, you have got to respect that 'most' people don't do drugs at all.

A lot of artist used drugs and alcohol when doing their art (not just drawing)... heck look at The Wall... and Alice in Wonderland... And Picaso had to be on something... I'm not condoning the use of these chemicals to better your talent, but I wonder if I would even be able to draw drunk or stoned...
Okay if you can't drive or be in public while you're intoxicated why would you put a sharp object in the hand or someone who is... oh yeah all fun and games until someone gets their eye poked out.

I use a bit too much marijuana!! Though I agree if a artist has to take drugs to perform it is a shame. I do 80% of my work sober because I want it to be well thought out! Most of my writing and characters come from drug persuasion though! heehhee! But when it come to the actual work, I use muzic as a natural high! But at times drugs do push the limit of reality to a all time deep state, I mean most dark and wicked stuff comes from drug users! But if you've been doing great work without drugs don't start now! <:-@

picasso was taking "Absinth" on a regular basis.

Its a thick green wine-like substance that is made of a plant (i dont know the english name for it) with big ammounts of TUJON a hallucinogenic substance in it.

Some claim to be able to distinguish his drug influenced pics from his others.. others say that for instance woman in green was inpired by absinth because of its (absinths) green color.

Absinth is still sold in Swizerland in some
places.

I think some people need breathalyzers for their computers. If thier blood alcohol level is too high their connection should drop so they can't make asses of themselves in public forums.

At least in real life it's pretty easy to tell a drunk in the street. On the net it's hard to tell if they're drunk or just idiots.
