well tom, first of all you can start by not yelling at all of up im not sure if you forgot to take the caps lock off or you just wanted to yell ohh well , drawing takes lots of time , practice and what not , people can tell you how to draw but only you can make yourself draw, if that makes any sence at all . there are people way more qualified to answer "how do you draw" on this board so ill leave it at that, and for the tablets, get a wacom , 6x8 its a nice size, and it works like a charm , well ill let the rest of the folks here rip you down for A) using caps and B) asking what kind of tablet you should use .. cuz you could have just uesed the search forum button and founf the answer to your questions, in like 20 diff post for each quesiton anyhow,, cya..

Anyway, Tommy, the only reason this got such a bad response is because these questions are asked so often it's sickening. The forum is equipped with a hi-tech "Search Button", with which you can "Search". I know, if you're new to the forum, you wouldn't know that these questions are asked so painfully often, but when you hear them almost daily, it gets quite irritating to the regulars around here.

What made it even worse was that you asked not one, not two, but THREE of the most commonly asked questions. Seriously. Those three questions get asked almost daily. And since they were asked by the same person on one thread, compounded by the fact that it was ALL IN CAPS, well... flamebait, as Loki said.

Oh, and don't get mad at Loki for giving out your e-mail addres... All you have to do is click the little Profile icon at the top of the post to get it...

Anyway, since you seem genuinely upset about this, I'll try and overlook the fact that I hear these questions so often I feel like tearing my eyes out with a rusty screwdriver (philips head) and give you some straight answers.

Yep.

1. A Wacom Graphire is your best bet if you don't feel like spending too much. It's about $100, and works great. The larger tablets, such as Wacom Intuos 6x8 and larger, are much, much more expensive, and most people find that the Graphire is just fine. I'd say go for a Graphire until you feel the need for something larger.

2. 3dPallete is down currently. Some dickpickle (hahahaha) pulled the plug on the entire Frag.com network, including 3dPalette. A little bit of it is up at http://www.3dpalette.org , but I don't know when it will be entirely back up and running.

3. Practice. Observe. Practice. That's all there is to it. You just have to do it constantly and really devote a lot of time and effort to it. You'll eventually start finding it easier and easier to create the image you initially visualize, and by observing things around you, you'll have a mental reference for whatever you need to draw. Some books can be helpful, too, such as Andrew Loomis books.

But really, Tom, instead of getting upset at what everyone is writing, take a look at what it was that you wrote. The way you presented yourself for the first time is just that, a first impression. Don't you sometimes think that the person you are meeting for the first time is a total kook, because of what they say or do, only to find out later that they are probably the best, or finest, or something worthy of what you are looking for? Rather than getting blown out of shape, try responding with, oops I fucked up writing this thread like I did, what I meant was...blah blah, blah, or as we Seinfeldians say, yada, yada, yada...I am not trying to poke fun here, merely stating that you are bringing this upon yourself. This forum is very cool, but not exclusive, and there are no head cases here, or that many big overblown ego's. But there are a lot of quick witted, and cynical at heart people here, who actually have lots of good things to say if presented the right way...
Tom, if you are really serious, maybe you might want to restate your request...I don't think that how do you guys draw good stuff is the way to go about it...but I could be wrong.
Hope you find what you are looking for...and on a side note, please keep posting stuff to this thread, I can't get enough of the strange colloquialisms I am getting here...this stuff is great for conversational speak...
