Another new pic. I spent about 10 hours on this in Photoshop. Any feedback would be cool.

The hair on this picture is fucking splended! I'm liking this image Tinusch! Is that a hand sandwich or tuna? Speaking of hands his right (our left) is kinda wonky and that stain on his shirt looks like a moniter defect! I tried for 3 minutes to rub it off with my thumb! Other than that damn cool!

Great picture . . . the only thing that really worries me though is the shadow being cast by the box. It seems a bit unnatural.

Hey Tinusch.

Funny pic. =) What is he so upset about? Is that some gruesome meat mold in that sandwich? =)

Here are some comments..

The shadows for the obejcts on the shelves are wrong I'm afraid. The gradient from should be darker in the corner where the box+shelf+wall meet (because there is less light refracted in that area, less bounce light reaching the deep corner), and it should be a bit darker along the edge of the box if the light is from that angle.

The boy looks a bit like a wooden puppet from some Russian folklore thing... (no offense, it adds style=)

I think the shadows in general should be sharper, depending on the lights around... just giving it more definition. A shadow on his torso/abdomen coming from his left arm/sleeve could have done some good.

Since the light is coming from the right side of the image, I would have made the lighting/gradient on the wall be darker on the left than on the right... it's currently the opposite (even though it's subtle).

Hey, it's a nice pic, and it's nice to see you spending so much time working hard at it... very dedicated - it's great! =))

It reminds me a bit of a demo scene artist called Lazur.

cheers!
frost.

Brain Thanks man!

DeathByDuplicity Thanks, I'm glad you like it. The hair I did by using the same method I posted in the "Hair" thread awhile back. The stuff in the sandwich is supposed to be unidentifiable, although I'm kind of disappointed that it looks so much like a hand. I wanted it to look like some weird mystery substance. Oh well. And the stain looked much better before I started shading... Thanks!

Nex Thanks a lot!

Speve-o-matic Yep, if there was one part of the picture I was most appalled by, it's the background. I did a quick redo of the background, because my original background was too blurry. I really didn't put enough thought into this one. Crap. Oh well. You can still kind of see the original background in the 100x100 thumbnail I have on my site. Thanks for the compliment!

Frost Thanks, I was trying to get a whimsical, cartoony kind of look to it. I agree, the shadows should have been sharper. I totally forgot to add the shadow from his arm, though. As for the background, again, I didn't put nearly enough, time, effort, or planning into it, especially the shadows. Thanks for the tips, though!

Nori Hahahaha, I expected that.

Gambit Thanks a lot, man!

I love this one. If you could somehow render the hands in the same manner you did for the face, I think it would be perfect. Shadows don't work, no perspective, etc. - doesn't matter. This image has too much creepy coolness to worry about all that. Depth of field effects work, too - adds to that menacingly corny look.

THe hands are too stiff. Not as well rendered as the rest of the image. Very creepy, kinda reminds me of the movie called Parents...seen it? This should have been in the movie...
