In Ebay.com , I placed a winning bid for $200 for an ArtZ II 12 x 12 tablet with an Ultra pen or something, its 3 years old. Was this a smart move , should I bid higher if needs be ? What exactly is the difference between the old ArtZII and the new Intuos' , the web site (wacom.com) is no help whatsoever, I'll try and email them ... I'd preffer your personal views. |

Im not really sure but I think the only difference is that the artz only came in seriell and ADB or whatever they are called.
And its not as sensitive as the new intous.
The pen is identical except for the ergonomi-details. there arent any on the artz =)
Besides that I think there isnt any big difference. The menustrips there, same amount of buttons on the pen and an eraser.

Do you think the price is fair ? For something 3 years old ? Could anyone with this device tell me how many levels of sensitivity there are ? Also , if new pens come out, can they be purchased seperatly and used on old tablets ?,

I own the same board, and the pressure sensivity for the Intuos is 1024 and for the ArtzII is 256.
I don't think you will notice the difference, but I have posted a thread about this topic somewhere.. Search on messages by 'moi' ..
I dunno about the price, the 12"x12" Intuos is about .. 480 $ or something..
I dunno, I haven't got anything to complain with this board.

Affected: That was pretty much the first thing I investigated, the seller's exact words where " It is in great condition, with
a couple of finger prints and a little mark or two on it. Other than that -
excellent. ".
Yea, I think I'll go ahead an buy it. |

Chalker:
I saw the thread you posted a while ago, kinda strange the way our situations are so similar... Thanks I'm gonna go for the prehistoric ArtZ II, so what if it only has 256 levels of sensitivity, I doubt anyone could really tell the difference. I'd say those who say they can, are trying to justify paying twice the price.

Well, as long as the tablet hasn't been regularly banged with a sledgehammer, I think it should be fine. These things seem to rank among the longest-lasting pieces of computer hardware I've ever seen.
