Here is a pic I did a while back of a stuffed bass my Grandpa caught about 14 years ago. I decided to pull it of the wall and start painting it. I need some suggestions with what I should do for a background. I don't really want to paint my monitor and computer desk...because that would look kinda funny.

Pimento, I like this one.
I would put in the wall that it's hanging on. It would require having the wall at a really weird angle, but that would be good. |

The color on this piece is fantastic... I think you've captured it quite well... About the blank background...I dunno...I think it helps you focus more on the fish, and less on the wall behind it...hehe

Nice pic! As far as a background goes, I'd ditch the board an set that sucka free. Throw in a nice lake (or maybe a river), with some mountainous/wilderness stuff in the distance, I see a nice slightly cloudy sky and a bright bright sun. Put some water on the fish an throw some highlights in from the sun glistening off its body, the fish already looks like it's flailing about in the air just above the surface of the water and you could have a couple more fish off in the background and and an... er hmm.. might have gotten a bit carried away here but you get the point or... maybe it's the picture you get...
Nevertheless, I love the pic man, it not only shows the fish, but also forces the viewers' imagination to create the rest of the picture... so I dunno... maybe it's best the way it is right now??

Hey, thanks guys. Striker, I really like that idea. I don't know why i didn't think of that before! Since that board is on another layer, it'll be fairly easy to show it being pulled up from water after snagging a lure. Or I could put it on the floor of an old wooden row boat next to a can of worms.

Dude, that last suggestion rocks. Make him on the floor of a wooden rowboat with a puddle of water around him. Yeah... The pic is awesome, by the way. |

That's sweeet, P man! I'm admiring the colours on this sonuvabitch! Pardon me while I scrap my bottom lip off the floor! Anyhoot I'd go with the whole list of suggestion! I like the boat idea, I think you should have you granddad unhooking the fish though or you could always put that bastard on my dinner table! Susheee! heh!
