WIldmyth - I just got lucky. Don't recognize that one. The face on the odd character reminds me of some McKean stuff, but no.

I like your style.
You seem to be a combination of Frazetta, Boris and Bisley. Maybe a little less of Bisley.
I really enjoyed the art work on your site. I visit it quite often, now that I know where its at. I wish you luck on achiving your goal in make a living as a fantasy illustrator.

Iain McCaig is the MAN! I love his stuff. I've actually had the opportunity to meet him in person, and he's really an awesome individual. He's almost god-like in how he explains art and what he does. He's kind, funny, and highly intelligent. In the two or three times I've spoken to him and shown him my portfolio, I've learned MORE from his informative words than I did in my ENTIRE storyboarding class last summer! He's really a big inspiration for me.

My favourite at this time (u know, favourites do change as time passes) must be Kaj Stenvall. He might seem like a bit of a joke with those paintings of Donald Duck, but the pictures really have a message. And his technique isnt really bad either.

Hmmm. I need to get an url to his work from somewhere...

The artist of the second piece I posted is done by Alphonse Mucha.
The Slav Epic was one of biggest projects that Mucha has done 20 paintings each measureing 18x24 feet. He has design artwork for jewelry dishes, furniture, etc.. Its amazing what one man can do in his life time. Now you maintain what is left of your sanity and get some sleep.

-Anthony
I'm not sure if you guessed it was Mucha that did the second art piece. Or were you just saying that he is your favorite artist?

Here is a more popular piece of Alphonse Mucha and his style that I admire so much.

Both, actually. ^_^ He does my favorite art(although Leonardo is my favorite artist). All around wonderful stuff. I have bunches of books on him.

I totally missed this post, but thanks to somebody who knows who they are I found this! Well, everybody's mentioned some fantastic artists, for sure. I fell in love with the artwork of these artists (in no particular order)...

- Gary Harrod (Black & white images in "Realm of Chaos")
- Masamune Shirou (Mech/character/layout designs for AppleSeed, Dominion, Black Magic M-66 in "Intron Depot")
- Otomo Katsuhiro (Mechanical designs/layout in "Akira")
- John Kricfalusi ("Ren & Stimpy")
- Shel Silverstein (Anything)
- Sebastian Krger (Caricatures)
- Ralph McQuarrie (Anything)

Some miscellaneous artwork/characters I love: Hello Kitty, Tottoro, Iczer, Yotouden, Madox 01, Project Zeorymer, Dangaiou... and then there's Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry, Steamboat Willie... oh yeah - and Scooby Doo... too many more!!!

Up and coming (and burping)...
- Dan Paladin (Hilarious animations and big balls)

Huggies and awes to all the amazing artists, beginners or experienced alike, at this forum, too

-kurisu

PS: I'm actually a midget - just ask the Green Giant!
