[Vortex]

First of all. Apologies to Vortx (or any other similar aliases) for my call-sign. This is my alias as a musician, I hope not to offend anyone.

I'm new quite new to computer graphics, and only do this stuff for "the hell of it". Thought to post some of my work here. Already I've been warned about lens flares. Guess I'll have to stop using them. I'll just post my most recent pieces of work.

Actually, I'm not famialiar with this UBB code, neither very strong with HTML. Therefore I'll just post links to three variations of the same picture. And yes, it uses a lens flare in the middle. My apologies, won't happen again!

Btw what music do you make and what instrument do u play?

Hi Vortex,

Like your picture(s). There's a nice sense of atmosphere about them. Good choice of colours, too. What about doing one with glimmers of light spiralling inward, rather than forking into the centre. Perhaps you could add a series of smaller spheres as well. Sort of like everything is being sucked into the vortex . Just a humble suggestion, I'm no demi-god, thats for sure. Actually, I don't think there are any demi-gods in the forum. Maybe a few demi-demons, though.

PS. While I think of it, have you seen Ultra Fractal 2? (Based on Mandelbrot's stuff, Chaos theory, etc,etc.) If you haven't, I think you'd love it, (judging from your picture).

I play around with this program whenever PS isn't doing it for me and I need timeout. The imagery is mesmerising. Below are a couple of links if you haven't seen it already. People are doing some haunting things with it.

Might indeed be caused by the fact that the site is hosted back here in Finland.

My intent was for a psychedelic pic, glad I have succeeded to some point.

Yes. All these three are just variations of one picture.

Well, the first one is the "original" pic, same as other two, only without the lightning.

I.. uhh.. make module music. Err.. Some ambient, some techno, some melodic. Nothing fancy. I've been a musician for.. hmm.. 3 years? Perhaps. But I'm no more than a rookie. I don't play any instruments, though I have some interest in learning keyboards (and I DO mean musical, not computer keyboard

Hmm, thank you for a reply! I am suprised I didn't get a flame right away.. Somehow I just had this feeling that you're all at some sort of demi-god to god - stage, where someone like me is but a lowly earthworm.

And as a precaution(sp) I want to point out that if anything I say seems offending, it is not intended. English is my second language, therefore some mistakes may seem like "offenses".

Hehe, I see you get the irony as well..
Another good idea, although the work that I had to make just those three look even remotely 3d was remarkable.. Adding multiple small ones with light-effects would kill me. But maybe someday.. maybe indeed...

Nay, I haven't. I've sort of decided to use only Photoshop as long as I can. Limiting, yes. Stupid? Yes. But that's just the way I am.

No problem.. Heh, and I guess that stuff could do that to one's eyes. But I'm so used to seeing colours and feelin' psyched out, it no longer affects me.
