You could change the eyes a little more as they still look too western. Colouring it may be an idea you could give it the look of an animation cell. |

Funny thing is, this is a girl with machine-like things connected to the back of her head... and i was thinking of puting a guy standing over her left shoulder, Her left, holding a gun aimed at her head. Would look cool, i think atleast. Drew this off of the top of my head..Regarding the eye thing, im not totally going for the all-out anime look, cuz im just practicing how to draw anime in the first place, first time sorta. She's supposed to be grinning,or smirking, while looking over her left shoulder.. Anyways, blah? forgot to put my sig on the drawing, but lemme state it's copyrighted :P mine mine mine! blah once again.

Curious... how is it not anime? It has some anime qualities... so it can be placed in the category :/... anyways, i might color it, dont know tho, will take a while to finish scetching it maybe. But yeah, i noticed the head was a lil big too :/ any other critiques or suggestions..? blah again.

i think you should go back a bit and begin from making the difference between manga and anime.
this here is (trying to be) manga style. or is this going to be a movie?
even my loved one looks more like a manga character than that.

First of all, this scetch isnt me "trying to be manga" ... I dont even know what 'manga' is so i doubt i could try. This is just a scetch, nothing more, just trying to practice anime type stuff, and overall trying to make a good-looking drawing, dont care what category it falls into. With that said, thanks for the bashing of my drawing. I can feel the love. blah again.

anime/manga whatever.
if you're trying to make a japanese-style drawing, you'll have a lot more success if you build your characters in 3d. when you're drawing the head, instead of a circle, think of it as a sphere. that way you can draw it in perspective, and get a much more realistic drawing. this is the way that japanese animators/comic artists work when they create their characters. you'll find the same method in fred's head-drawing lessons.
manga-style drawings can look deceptively simple, but i guarantee that the rough drawings include things like bone structure, muscles, etc. they all help!
here's a rough sketch i was working on trying to figure out the hand-placement for a t-shirt design i'm doing. the character is supposed to be firing a gun at the viewer. i don't know if its manga-style or not. i guess it could be, depending how i do the head.
