Hi all,
I've been posting to this forum for a while now, lots of text but no art. So in order to rectify this imbalance, here are two of my 'analogue' pieces.
Hopefully the detail still works to create cohesion, even though they both were cropped after being scanned at 150 dpi for legibility. The real sizes are somewhat smaller and are available at the temporary page for comparison.
For those interested - I've done a few of these now over a couple of years. They're all done exclusively with mechanical pencil using HB leads. I use a little strip of sandpaper to keep a point on the leads. (the residue makes excellent fuzzy shader for other drawings).
Believe it or not, I do not use erasers of any kind for these kinds of images. It's simply not possible to fit the eraser between lines.
I finish off the drawings with a good fixative.
That's it. These ones I scanned and converted to vector graphics. I find it much easier than inking, less messy too
For the originals on paper there is no need to ink. The pencils are plenty dark and crisp without it.
Added notes: I used a picture of a fetus as reference to get the image proportions right on the fist image.
The second one didn't require any preparation.
Hope you enjoy the images
DG

I like what you're doing Digital Genesis. Your pictures are very stark, moody and interesting. |

I have done a few images like that (too bad I can't find them).
I love putting my name and other little things into the artwork without it being easily noticed. ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

You mentioned, DG, that you converted some of your drawings, which are very complex, to vector graphics for inking. Is there any easy (quick) way to do that? I'm having trouble with some of my drawings, and I'm wondering if I'm missing something obvious. |

These are really nice! Love the play between positive/negative space, and control of detail and areas for my eyes to rest.
Great job!

Wow, thanks. I'm happy you guys like what I do. Makes all those long hours, getting near sighted from details, worth it. ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/wink.gif) |

No need to kill me
If you're serious, that he'd want it as a tattoo, I'd be honored. Just please post a picture of it, once he gets it done
