I read your excellent tutorial with the cubes and noticed for suggested reading, you mentioned a lot of books by Andrew Loomis. I tried searching through amazon, barnes and noble, and some other various online book retailers and failed to locate any of the titles you mentioned by him. Do you have any ISBN numbers or have any suggestions on where I could possibly find his books?
More specifically, I was looking for any good books on figure drawing instruction. Any recommendations? |

http://www.alibris.com/
This place has alot of old, and out of print books. I found a bunch of the Loomis ones there when I did a search by author, but OOOWHEE they are pricey :-)
If you got the cash, they seem to have all the books there.
If your local library is big enough, you might be able to find a couple there. Some of them will get books from other libraries for ya too if you ask. |

happyham-you can get the books at a place called Bud Plant Comic Art...http://www.budplant.com/
go there. Actually,
http://www.budplant.com/scripts/search.exe and type in Andrew Loomis. They have the condensed versions of head and hands, and the figure.
Also call bud Plants used book division. The books are pricey, but absolutely worth every penny you spend. Beauty is, you can always resell for more if you hate art by the time your through with all this, which I hope you don't...
Otherwise, the books are all out of print, no ISBN numbers, and good luck finding them cheap. You'll spend a bit, but they are worth it, can't emphasize it more...Good luck finding them...
I also might do something with my books, maybe you'll all find out here very soon...

Why some publishing house doesn't reprint these books is beyond me. Any company that does will make lots of money out of very old books. |

that's true, why can't they reprint those books.
It's easy to get a hold of the "figure" and the "heads and hand" book, but the rest
Even though it's worth every penny, I have certain principals stopping me from paying more than $200-$300 for a book.
