I guess if someone post another "synj, you are sooo great, let me be your dominated love slave" message I will have to throw up.

My 2 monetarily depreciated Canadian cents;

Not for anything, but I think people should have respect for other people's works. None of us are at the same level of knowledge or experience, have the same tastes, goals or styles. We all have our strong points and weaknesses; I try to keep that in mind each time I deal with people, here, or elsewhere.

If you respect people and treat them as such, you will also benefit from the same treament.

cheers.
'Old geaser & phylosopher-wannabe' frost.

synj: maybe i should make a phonesexline with your slogan..

oh and a little critique on the picture: for a more realistic effect the black censored-block should be rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise, thank you

.. oh yeah ... and theresa:

*throws up* ah.. better

Frost: I agree with you.

And I have to say that I really hate this "lets all jump in and hit him" attitude. I have to wonder why it seems so popular to be destructive instead of being constructive. If thinking would just be as popular as love making our world would be a better place.. and this forum too.

nex sorry eheh i thought it might've been really fat.

i think alot of people need to kick back and relax. everyone all being all anal (MMmmm)

eheh nex is right about the hating thingie, its amazing how much more participation goes into the roar grr than the critiques. look at this thread compared to other posts.

and to you tightbuns out there, i posted a critique, and my view. if you dont like it, i have a greeting card with a pop-up penischopper inside for each and every one of you eheh unless you're a girl

fkk what happened here mun!?

CyberArtist - Cool work man. Good balance of black n whites. The porportions look kinda off tho.(like the legs too big) but all in all I reckon it works well. Great job =) ( what scares me.. he does look like hes trying extremely hard to polish his own helmet, if u get my drift hehe

Synj I don't agree with you. I think its good to try out different methods/styles of working. Also nobody owns this style, so saying its another attempt to be somebody else is really a bit of a stupid comment. Inspiration has gotta come from somewhere yo.

God has spoken, come to my children...;p

look at the topic duhhhrrrr

eheh and his first sentence:
"I really love micke's b&w art and have wanted to try doing some myself."

true, cos, but inspiration does NOT have to come from someone else's work. what about.. your brain?

i come here to see NEW stuff. i dunno about the rest of you. some people act like "art" is copying eachother's ideas for new material. well you can trick yourself alllll you want and someone might even support that - but that doesn't make it right. people need to get their own gigs and use their honkin' noggins

Synj fair enough. but it's not like he's tried to imitate Mickes drawing style, if that was the case then I would agree with you. Its just a style of inking, theres a lot of artists that ink this style, Frank Miller and Mike Mignola to name a couple.

Inspiration has gotta come from something, whethers its someones work, shit you see, stuff around you. Nothing wrong with that. Sit yourself in a blackroom for a month with nothing as inspiration except your brain and see how inspired you get. There is nothing wrong with trying something new to you, which is what this was to CyberArtist.

Anyways I go back to my blackroom now...

Ahh... Cos has restored order and tranquility to our forum... Synj, I love your pics. They are badical. But Micke introduced the board to a somewhat obscure art style. He didn't invent it, of course, but he did do a lot in giving the style more exposure and recognition. Many of us have been inspired by it. We weren't so much inspired by Micke himself as we were with the style he had shown us. And making pics in that style aren't copying Micke. Micke didn't invent black or white. The pics are inspired by the style Micke showed us. The style existed long before Micke showed us his pics, but without Micke, many of us would never have seen anything like that style. So can't we all just do whatever kind of pics we want? Sure, maybe seeing a lot of black and white pics gets annoying after awhile, but black and white pics are just as valid as your pics. And sure, maybe Fallen's pics are all in the same vein, but the pics are great, and that's how he chooses to express himself. Your awesome doodles and sketches are all quite similar, you must admit, but I love them just the same. We all make the kind of pics we want. And we should be able to trust that others won't try and tell us how to and how not to paint.

Fallen, I love your pics. They're so detailed and sharp and clean. Many of them are similar, but that's just fine. I love them anyway.

Synj, I love your pics. They're so eccentric and bright and lively. They're hilarious, too. Many of them are similar, but that's just fine. I love them anyway.

Everyone who makes B&W pics, the pics may all be similar, but that's just fine. I love them anyway.

Hopefully, you can see what I'm getting at...

i agree with you tinusch i liked how you put all that together. if only my brain would say that instead eheh

i just had to reply to the above because i dont just do scribblies i feel as if that isn't cleared up. i make 2D stuff, and 3D animations, and i also do real life structures on top of that but i never post them

i support exploring styles.. i just found it particularly unsettling that it was done in such a gigantic movement at once and i felt the need to say "HEY, CENSORED" and i am sorry mister cyberartist that i picked yours it was just the straw that broke the synj's back.

I agree withyou to a point, but it's no more immature than this:
http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001502.html
or this
http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001530.html
but that's just a few examples....don't get me wrong the actual 3d animations are good and I like scribble

Sheesh, you had to dig long and hard for those... And besides, the second one wasn't even attacking anyone.

In any case, I disagree with synj here about one thing: there's a big difference between wanting to 'be someone' and trying a different style.

holy molasy what am i doing in photoshop if i can scribble in lightwave? hehe

synj's art is loaded character and even the highly detailed/looking-like-pictures art has a very hard time getting to that. so dont be a butt because thats not nice. its funny i DO ACTUALLY SCRIBBLE and people dont put my sticks down in bad ways such as this, other than say that they need boobs.

i think people should find their own style themselves after some art school, teaching at someplace, or just learning by themselves and live happy artfilled lives. in myyyyy opinion i think it is an unwise decision to basically copy the style of someone that has worked so hard to get there already. COMMON BE NEAT PEOPLE.

*and the drawing that guy posted up looks like hes giving himself head

*and Fallen's work deserves alot of credit

I'd like to thank everyone for 10 minuts of pretty damn entertaining read. Conflict is so fun...

Kool pic, Cyberartist. I'd recommend working on the proportion of the legs. They look a slight too big. Also, his back needs to be arched more. His spine seems to be aligned too straight for that angle. Otherwise, I have to admit that black and white "ink" drawings like this appeal to me too, and on occasion I've also been 'guilty' of being a 'copycat' hahahaha.

Keep up the entertainment, folks.

Th B&W is cool. Desperation. Yay.

There's nothing wrong with drawing inspiration from other people's work. If i hadnt looked at others, i would still be sheep #2345A in school. Instead, i am now an art-director of a magazine & record label. Go figure.

Furthermore i'd say fallen and synj have no valid arguements against eachothers art since every piece they make more-or-less looks like the last one. And yes, that's a good thing. It's cool to be able to clearly recognize a piece of art as being from him or her or him. Besides that, it all rocks the speakers off my 'puter so shut up and make more of it
