Some time ago Gecko (I think), posted a pic of a butterfly. Cyberartist (I think) joked that it would be better if it was more cyber. Jess (where are ya lass?) said "ooh a cyberbutterfly" or something like that.
Anyway, some months later I have done this:
I don't like saying what I think (or know) is wrong with my stuff. Better to see what people notice without me pointing to anything.
Besides, you all have to be nice. This is my anniversary pic. It's been roughly a year since I started doing this drawing stuff. Feel free to leave tributes with the doorman on the way out ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/wink.gif) |

I really like this!! All i think that it really needs right now is a shadow on the hand from the butterfly. You probably know to keep that shadow subtle like you did on the palm.
Also the bugs right leg (left if your looking at it) looks a little flat compared to the others.
And i would put some more color into the hand. The skin would probably be warmer in certain areas and more tan on the top.
Also color will be reflecting very subtly from the bug to the hand. Maybe just a little color. You know what your doing.
Very cool though. I like it a lot

It's very nice and original. Nice colors in the butterfly... but no colors in the hand. The hand looks very pale in comparison. |

drawing for only one year eh? Damn good for a year...The hand needs some more value work. It stands out in comparison to the rest of the image. The modelling is great on it, it just needs some more value range. A dark value, and a bit more value where the hand transitions out of the direct light source. One year eh?... |

Thanks guys. Big praise indeed.
I must chuckle about the hand a bit, as I look at my pallid flesh in my cold room. Given my monitor settings and the light here it's pretty close. But I completely agree that in relation to the rest of the image it's not balanced properly.
I'll get the hang of it eventually i hope.
Thanks again |
