LOL Francis.

One thing I'd like to see in future versions, is the ability to hold down a keyboard key instead of the mouse button. I find it very ackward when trying to lasso a detailed object with a mouse, I tend to twist my wrist in weird positions that cause me to lose my hold on the mouse button.

... I know, I know, I should get a Wacom. But in the mean time it would be a nice feature.

Let us all hope that Adobe wakes up and realizes that it needs to add additional paint tools rather than turning it into a web design utility. I'm sick to death of seeing them venture further along that road.

Maybe I should switch to Painter 6 instead.. Now if only I could figure out a way to switch brush sizes quickly like you can in PS with the [] keys.... Anyone? Tips are more than welcome..

Danny

That's easy Danny, just hold down ALT Gr, then move your cursor around (ie like dragging the tablet pen up n down)to change the brush size.

Binke,

just tried that Alt Gr thing... didn't work. Would that perhaps be version related?
However, I just installed a warez (boooh!) version of Painter 6 and found out that in this version the [] do control the brushsize. YAY!
I'll be giving the program a testdrive over the rest of the week to see if I like it enough to purchase an original and make the switch from PS..

Wish me luck...

Danny

Both AltGr and Ctrl+Alt work for this, at least on my keyboard Just press the key(s) down and drag your new brush size, works in Painter 5 and 6. It's very useful, and addictive - I'm always annoyed that PS doesn't have this feature...

And hey Danny, if you have the time: read the Brushes section in the Painter 6 manual! About a month ago I finally did that after having used Painter for years, and it was like a revelation to finally understand what all those weird brush parameters actually do. It also allowed me to make my own custom brush set; it's quite enjoyable to finally have brushes that you've designed yourself than using a bunch of random default brushes where you have to guess how they work and what they're good for.

Only reson it looks like a Mac GUI is because its a screeon shoot taken on a MAC, if they had took the screen shoot(s) in Windows it would of looksed like Windows PS.
Trance-R:
I am NOT beta testing for adobe, not sure how you can get on the beta testing group, i think adobe wants to keep the same people who been beta testing for them on 5.0, 5.5, etc.. because they know what to look for and what not.

I am already saving up my money.

eetu: yes way cool!

Thanks Saff! You the Painter man!

I've been flicking through the PDF's of the Painter 6 manual briefly and considering Painters incredible depth, it's definately a must read.. There's so many damn sliders to tweak.. we'll see how it goes..
