I recently took a course through work for Photoshop. The course was excellent, but what was even cooler was that the teacher was a beta tester for version 6.0, and he was telling us about the features that may or may not make it.
One of the features I thought was really cool was the ability to record everything you do in an action/macro type thing. Every single move you make from start to finish on a project can be recorded (and in a file small enough to fit on a floppy!), and then played back... anywhere. What a nifty tool to have for teaching others *cough*spooge*cough... You download a 30k action file, hit play, and watch every brush stroke happen as the image is recreated right in front of you

Blind,
It's really nice that Pshop will include this as well. In painter there's allready such a macro, which has been since there a long time.
If you go to spooge's page, you can see that he has allready made such an animation allready....it's a really nice one

You mean the bridge thing? Yes, that was very cool... but does Painter have the ability to record everything? I mean, seeing step by steps of how something is done is great, but if I could run an action that does everything (brush/color selection, etc) just as if Craig were sitting there doing it himself, it might be some pretty good insight.

yep, painter has been doing that for quite a while. You can record every single detail you wish while you paint. You can then edit it and remove certian parts if you want to.
Photoshop has been using some of painters functions for a long time. Painter was using layers long before photoshop, but photoshop took the idea and made them better.(layers).
I can't wait to see what they do next. I'm sure the recordable scripts will be very nice in photoshop. |

I just hope that they have fixed those memory leaks. AND that they haven't screwed up the hotkeys (since I work in fullscreen mode, tab, f, f) and the commands layout.
Other than that it could really kick some serious butt =))).
