Ever wanted to know how "Hell on Earth" looks like? No? Don't look further...
Yes?, well, keep looking then...

I like this sketch more than my previous one (Zombie Doctor) so I'll color this sketch with PhotoShop 5.0 instead of the other one...
I hope to have it finished soon...
Ok?

Note 1.) I made this scan darker with PS

Note 2.) The buildings may look a little bit sucky sucky...I hope to do some "building studies" soon...

Note 3.) Feel free to tell your opinion about this sketch...

K, here goes...

-the dude with the alcohol bottle (bottom left, close) his eyes are too far apart from one another, the slanted eyes make him look gangly, but maybe you were going for that

-this is suppose to be hell, no holds barred. So, the 'pussy' sign should be fully readable. Maybe have it so the guy who is covering the 'y' with his smoke hold the cig in his hand and make it so the sign is in neon lights like a strip bar or something

-(this next one is my testosterone speaking) but make it so the girls breasts are bursting at the seams. CLEAVAGE!

-look on the part of the picture that is goes from center to the right where the street bends... have some fire in the background to give the 'hell' affect

Good job though man, keep it up.

-Adam Bromell

I'm digging this drawing!
looks a lot like my old neighborhood (eeeeeegh)...

I don't find much problem with the character on the left, in fact, he's my favorite because of the sagging style (and hell,, we could all use a drink now and then!?) My next is the friendly lady sticking out of the window -- very nice (she needs shoulders tho.)

But to me, the drawing has no focal point to where my eyes should be directed to. Objects share the same amount of attention to detail, so nothing really stands out from each other. Further, the center character guides my eyes to a square pattern.

But this can certainly change if it's to be painted...I've heard a lot of posters repeat, "image needs to tell a story".. and you almost hooked it.

keep going with it. Hope this helps!

JJ

Am I the only one that caught the "Satan = Geocities" note in the bottom right?

They deleted my password/access and some images from my old homesteader site....it now has nearly 3 million hits after it got reset at 2 million. Lol. http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/9752

Very nice sketch Lange,
I like how you've captured that sleazy soho
(for people in London) atmosphere, with it....and plenty to look at.
Great work.

Thanks for the replies guyz...

>Stormvermin, Nighttime,

you said things were I wasn't even aware of, I'll try to put your critique in the final, completed pic...
But...I want to let it "hooked"...I won't change that...

>Spitfire,

Amsterdam? Nooo...Amsterdam's "Red Light District" is much more nicer and cleaner, isn't it? This is more like a bad neighberhood of a big American city...

>Lemur-X,

yep, you saw the small detail...
But there's another one...a very perverted detail...
I don't say which one...

You have some great eyes for detail and a big imigination if you can find it...
*heh*

Some details:

BUT (!!), I'm not very "happy" about it, it has not the same "feeling" as my sketch...
AND (!!), I'm going to buy a Wacom thingy soon so I think I'll do this drawing all over again...This man took me ages to draw with the mouse...
But ahh, who cares?!

Hmm?
