I posted them as steps. I was inspired by Boomsticks newest drawing Here they are:
This is not how i usually work, but it's
fun to try different things. I usually work with lines.
I think the earlier 1-2 stepss looks more interresting than the finished one. I don't know what happened inbetween. There's too much going on all over. When i look at it know i think it would look better in colour than BW.
Also thanks to all the artists that has inspired and teached me lately I've
been drawing now on a daily basis and
turned it into a routine. Great fun!

Micke:
You have one of the best styles I have ever seen. The lighting that you create with every one of your b/w scenes is just awe-inspiring.
I love when artists go off and try new, innovative styles. This is an extremely original style...it's just amazing.
You have been one of my favorite artists for a long time, and seeing you expand your talent just helps reinforce this.
Wonderful.

God. I love this. It reminds me when Jim Lee started drawing this similar style for "Deathblow" which I thought was great (being different is good). Very dynamic work here Micke.

These are fantastic. I wish I could start on a new drawing, but I've gotten behind on my schoolwork(again). These forums are way too addictive.
BTW, have you heard of an artist named John Paul Leon? He used a similar technique on this comic book cover.
I hate to pimp my site in your thread, but I keep forgetting to turn this signature on...http://sedone.cjb.net

Micke: If you are at all familiar with Jim Lee's comic work (my favorite artist, and my personal god for my early teendom). He's done stuff like WildCATS, X-men, fantastic four...but he decided to do a side project called "Deathblow" I really suggest you take a look at those comics. It was a far cry from jim lee's regular work, and shows just how multifaceted he is...as you are too.
Deathblow should be available at any comic retailer, as it wasn't very popular so it didn't sell out completely (even though some say jim sold out...uh hyuck hyuck *boo*).
Maybe I can scan some pages from my deathblow books when I get them back.

Jim Lees Deathblow was basically inspired by Frank Millers Sincity style. Was kinda meant to be a homage to him by Lee, which Miller kinda got pissed off about later cause Lee just had other artists continue it and cashing on the style. |

I can't see miller getting pissed about anything..he's one of the most laid back individuals in comics

Hey Micke,
I have never tried this approach before. I had more fun doin this than anything in the past year- thanks for the inspiration. I think I will continue trying. It will definately help my shapes. I Here is my pathetic attempt to be Micke:
i know the subject is a little hackneyed, but I thought to start with someting that lends itself to what I have seen in the past. makes it easier to start.
It also is another very nice process for designing pictures, and i may start this way sometimes in the future for my more "normal" work. It can suggest stuff that you could have never pulled out of thin air. And PS is the ultimate animal for this. kewl

Great image, Micke. Nice of you to post your steps! I have to try this approach now.
Check out the DC comicbook 'Challangers of the unknown'. When it started out it had John Paul Leon as the peciller. Amazing stuff! In my book his right up there with Mike Mignola, Frank Miller and Duncan Fregredo as the great inkusers in comics today.
Also very nice image Spooge. And I believe you're right. Doing a picture this way allows for 'things' to emerge that would have been almost impossible to do from scratch.

Scoop:
Please scan in a couple of pages and mail them over to me. I would apreciate it a lot
Spooge: Wow!That's a truly amazing piece of work I love it. You're right. It's a very simple and easy way of planning a picture or simply just trying things out. It's also great fun, since you can get all the things in place really quick. This can be done with ink on paper as well, but it becomes more difficult if you gonna erase black areas with white. Yeah Photoshop really rules when it comes to this. Thanks, glad you liked it.
Boomstick: Thanks Looking forward seeing your picture.I'm going to the comic book shop
tomorrow and see if i find 'Challangers of the unknown'.
fragamite: I've done a couple of atempts, but i stopped. It takes too much time, and i'm not experienced enough. Also i will never gonna get the time with my fulltime job, but you never know. maybe in the future i'll try again. It's fun.
Christer: Wow. Nice one! Reminds me
of an old comic from the 60's called
"Kozure Okami"---Lone wolf and Cub.My father is Japanese and had all these books. I loved that comic. It was way ahead comic art for it's time, and when it was re-released in late 80's Frank Miller , and Bill Sienkevich (i don't remember how you spell his name)did the covers.
