Yes, I finally found good painting-style.
What do you like?

Nice apple I like the colors and lightning of it.
The only thing bugging me a bit, is the worm. It doesn't really look like it has the same lighsource as the apple, so therefor it gets a bit flat. Fix that, and I think the picture will look very "eatable"

Awwww!! Photorealistic man! Geez! Great Job!
I have no critique...sorry...
My opinion about the worm:
-I think the worm is fine, it has a great "slippery/slimy" look... |

Yeah, the apple rocks, but the worm doesn't have a same light source. Plus, I'd like to see a worm that big =)).
Nevertheless, it looks great.

I did little fixes, now the worm looks more round and I made tiny feet. |

Hmmm, sorry to say this, but I still think it's a bit wrong
Since the ligh comes from upper left, the worm should have more light from that angle. Though, I like that you have putten more light on the lower part of the body, because it makes the worm look a bit transparent (but, then you should do this on the upper part as well.
But, hey how about doing something really original. That somebody has taken a bite from it,, even though it hangs from the top of the tree...hehe, that's not something you'd see every day...joking.
Sorry for giving so much critiscm, but I like the pic very much, so I really think you should get the worm a bit better, because it's a very nice picture.
Keep it up!

I agree with Joachim, but I disagree with ex. The background does not need more detail at all. It is quite obvious that you were aiming to create a dominant focal point (being the apple) by contrasting the sharpness of it against the blurred background.
I think the image is extremely well done on a whole, and like others am quite impressed with the level of realism you've achieved.
Did you use Photoshop, or Painter?
Regards!

This looks very good. It seems like there's a light source just below the worm too, despite of that the light on the worm seems a little odd. |

The background on this is ok, don't change it. But, the foreground branch creates some wierd tangencies where it crosses over the background branches up above the worm.
The worm also looks like it has a pen light illuminating it. He should sit in the shadow plane also, with some rim lighting around the head area, since it is protruding from the top plane of the apple which is top lit.
Over all it has a beautiful feel, I like that it looks blurred and softened in areas without using the smudge tool, or blur filters. Great job...
Did I make 20000??? |

Here comes another fix. This time I added more reflection to the head. There are two lightsources, but the other light is much softer.
I've only used six hours to paint this image, normally I spend 20-30 hours with one painting.
For HumanClay: I used Photoshop.

That looks extremly well drawn and I also like the style. But the only things that i noticed that bothered me was the hole that the worm is coming out of, and like Joachim had mentioned.. the worm is shaded differently then the rest of the apple. And one more thing, the backround should have more detail. Like the brances in the back. And besides that it is shaded very well and looks extremly realistic.

It feels really good when great artists like Fred or Joachim says something good about your painting.
Bogus: It is just redraw. I saw that pic in magazine called ITviikko.

Did you that painting for a company or did you redraw it from their add-campaign.
The apple looks exactly the same as the apple that Content Technologies uses for their mimesweeper campaign.
Just wondering, who was first the egg or the chicken. I no mean i am saying that you "stole" it!. I myself, uses adds, postcards and photo's as guidance too.
