I digged around in my old sketches too (like micke did) and found a pencil drawing I made for a RIFTS(tm) Roleplaying game character. Some parts of it were quite bad but I liked the body armor she had on, so I colored it:

Comments are welcome. (as usual )

Nah!

It seems everybody is digging in their good ol' sketch archive...
I couldn't resist it too so I've also posted an "old" sketch of mine...
It was made when I wasn't even aware of Photoshop and digital art...I only knew Adobe Photo Deluxe, as you can see I used that software to put that sponsor logo on the man's "shirt"...I was too lazy to draw it...*hehheh*

BTW, This pic was a design for on T-shirts...

I'm realizing I'm going off-topic now, so, I have to say something about Nex' pic before Nex will explode again...

Ok...here I go:

........Uhm...yeah...Nex, maybe you should post some other old sketches of you? I can't say very much about only one (not really finished) sketch...

Nex;

Your image lacks any kind of structure or dimension.

By directing your attention to the anatomy and putting the costume on it as if it were a real thing with mass and volume, you'd have a much more successful drawing, even if it is just the armor.

Is that more constructive?

thanks, didn't see that before.
I will work on it.

I was into coloring and did not recognize the error in the sketch.

they have bugs, and lot of them too.. (ear of guy)

Mozeman: It WAS constructive and it would be even more constructive if you would keep your sarcasm to yourself.

Hey nex, try looking at things this way...
Your woman in armor picture is good, but you have a problem with the armor, as mentioned by Mozeman (listen to him)....back to the point I was trying to make...
Every figure has a center, spine, line of motion, arc what ever you want to call it. unless your figure is in some heavy motion everything will "usually" be on that center. Number 2 on the sketch below.
Number 1 is the rib cage, see how the arch of the lower half of the ribcage is divided by the spine? So should your armors lower half as well as everything else. You're almost there, you may want to go back over this drawing and figure out what's wrong with it.
think of it like this..
first, skeleton
second muscle sets on skeleton
third skin sets on muscle
fourth clothes set on skin
fifth armor sets on clothes.
Try to draw it in layers, this will help with proportions and the way elements lay on the body.
good luck and keep up the drawing it will pay off!
