Well I don't know why this one was done- about the only thing I like about it is the colours used on the buildings in the background! But still I thought I should post it.
And if you're interested, (since everybody else is posting self-portraits!)
Oh well, I guess you've got to start somewhere, hey?!

if you are not doing so now, Might I suggest you join in on the thread "fred's paint along" or something like that. Spooge and Fred are putting together a VERY nice tutorial that will help you out with some shading issues.
You have a great start!
Keep at it.

Yeah will be doing- bit pressed for time, with the final weeks of the uni semester coming up.
I'm keeping an eye on the tuts-they are repeating, with probably a little more detail, what was taught to us earlier this year. I'll be posting my own attempts to the forum as soon as I have some breathing room! |

G'Day Shan!
Interesting rendition of our fabled Opera House. Nice colours.
With your self-portrait, the chin appears a tad long. Just an opinion. Good start though.
What area of Sydney you from?
I'm from Parramatta.

Wahroonga- although I'm attending uni in Newcastle at the moment (but live in Sydney....!)
hehe I showed the pic to my ex girlfriend in NZ and this is what she had to say:
"wow...I was about to say that I loved the operahouse one...then as I was nibbling away on my tea it appeared in full glory on the screen with a slug sticking out each end...I stopped eating for a second to just sit and contemplate it! Very well done I must say! =P"
hehe It was created for a "Double-take" project for uni, so it looks like it served it's purpose. I'll move on now =) hehe |

I love the water it looks very real. Compared to the rest of the picture, the snail's eye doesn't look too good. |
