Hi folks.
Updated my site with a few new pieces. This quickie being one of them.
What do you guys think of my latest images compared to my older "Boris" inspired much more detailed ones? Better or worse?

Nice pic, maybe you can post a bigger version, it's a little hard to judge at this size
btw, if you did a mistake in your post, you don't need to redo a new one, there is an 'edit post' button on top of the message that let you modify your message...

nice pic...but theres one thing i dont like...this has nothing to do with this pic...DONT take this the wrong way. You are x-tremly good at painting, BUT i think u look at boris valejos paintings too much...i looked at your website, and that spider - conan pic, i recognized the spider...looked at some boris pics and saw the same spider, but you had altered it and another slighy chifted angle...plez dont take this the wrong way...i dont say that you are a copyer...no im not...err....this reply was a misstake...sorry !

I used to look to much at Boris..thats correct, thats also what I`m trying to get away from.
But in my own defence..the spider was not ripped from his pic. I gathered my own tarantula refercence..although big hairy spiders look similar from the front,-)

I actually prefer the newer style (which appears heavily influenced by Frazetta?). Thats a particularly good one too!

I like this newer hybrid style better. I've enjoyed Boris and Frazetta's work just as much as the next guy, but I can only take so much of bulging pecs, and German Expressionistic lighting. There definitely is a market for it, don't get me wrong, but why do what's been done? You're definitely one of the more talented fellows on here Veb, and I like to see that you're making a conscious effort to establish your own feel.
BTW...I don't get tired of looking at full-figured naked women with weapons. So keep doing those pieces. ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

Yes, I like this style better.. "boris style" usually has men standing in a non natural pose...but all your work is great! I like very much!

Could you please tell us what resolution you work at? All of your pictures state they are lowres versions.
If possible, it would be cool to see a high res version. Even an ugly super jpged one.

Thanks for all the nice comments;-)
One of the reasons I make quick and rough ones right now, and probably will continue down that road, is simple..I`m bored of details. It takes ages and I`m just not in the mood right now to paint detailed jewelery and other stuff. `They do turn out a bit Frazetta like, but I don`t even look at any other artists work when painting now. ....I don`t go.."hmm..how would Boris do this or Frazetta do that...etc" I used to sometimes, but no longer! I just do them how I like them. And try to bit a bit critical .
Although I`d like to just do whatever I please, I still have to satsify the editor of Conan if I want any of them printed...and smooth detailed Boris like images sell better to that age group...or atleast thats what they say, but judging from this board, I think they might be wrong. They took the attacking conan, so I`ll just hope they want more like this.
Phew...long post..
