The top half of the face doesn't look like it belongs with the bottom-half. The perspective isn't consistive. |

WEll HERE it goes ..
I think you need some contrast here it all looks flat because you have no contrast . PeeWee needs some shadows and highlights , the eyes for example look like you put alot into them .. they look really good but the rest needs some life into it.
The perspective is definitely off for everything below the eyes . It seems like your Pose might have changed at different stages of sketching this .. so thats the problem with that ..
well thats about all I can point out ..

Well the top of the head is to high in my opinion, balled or not(?) it still makes him like like one of those cartoon genius's with the big brains.

It's hard to say how off the structure is, maybe your head is really shaped like that
Aciddrone, "balled?" This is no place for that type of language.
Luvboat is obviously a loner, Dottie. A rebel.

It's a line from Pee Wee's Big Adventure.
Seriously, the roughness of the proportions might be more forgivable in a rough pencil sketch or painted sketch. But this image seems more refined, so the proportions seem all out of kilter because it looks like you spent time getting the color right, but not the drawing itself.
And it's not stylized enough for the misproportions to be "artsy," ala Picasso.

Put some more colors into the face. It all seems to be one color. Also I don't like the flat background.
...darken the ear and the whole side of the face. You've probaably drawn and shaded a ball before...well this is the same thing. The head is round like a ball, so shade it like one. Then add in the shadows of the nose and mouth. Just make sure your light source remains consistant.
...Sorry about all the Pee Wee jokes this forum as well as myself just can't keep from taking a joke and running wild with it.
...Go out and buy (unless you have it) the Bridgman books on drawing and anatomy.
...Also what I think would help you even more is to just draw you own mug from about 20 or 30 different angles a day. Those are quick sketches no scanning and painting. Just till you can draw the head from any angle. You gotta do what you gotta do to be good at drawing.
...Fill those sketchbooks with drawings. The computer will follow.
Hope I helped
