Here's a concept sketch of a mean-looking dude from my fictitious "world". His armor is supposed to be alive, so I'm going for the bio-mechanical a la' Giger look.
I'm reading the Dune series, and looking at a bunch of Moebius stuff, so you might be able to see the influences. |

nice sketch, sedone
That would suck if you had to turn your head in that armor. I guess you would have to turn at the hips. |

He said the armor's alive. So it would probably turn with you. Just hope the armor doesn't get mad at you. |

Sedone, what is this "blue pencil" you use to sketch? Is it just a regular colored pencil or is it a special type of pencil? |

Tinusch, it's just a Col-Erase blue pencil. I use it to sketch with out of habit from when I drew comic pages. I like how it feels on really smooth paper. Some people hate using it tho. |

Wow, great stuff.
I love the concept, of the living armor.
If you can draw like that and do those storyboards, you will not have a problem painting them with the computer.
You probably know this allready but..
I'm not sure how familair you are with photoshop....
If you are going to scan those images in, may I suggest converting them to greyscale so you can then transfer them to an alpha channel. that way you can create a layer that only contains your sketch.(load selection, then fill) this will allow you to paint "under" your sketch.
you can try leaving them blue, but they may come up lighter than expected. You can use the technique for any paint program. Painter has an easier way of doing it, if you are using Painter.
Ok, that's my mindless rambling for tonight
Great stuff! did i say that allready?

Yes. Extremely cool. What is it that you do for a living? If you've already mentioned that, I can't remember.

Very nice sketch! He kind of looks like a young version of the bad guy in the movie "Tron". |

Francis, I'm attending the Art Institute of Dallas. I have a few months left, which is great because I'm sooo ready to find a real job and stop being poor, and eating ramen noodles everyday...
Anyway, I'm trying to paint this picture in Painter Classic. I just got my tablet, so it's sorta looking like finger paint by numbers at the moment, but if it turns out remotely better I'll post it and let you guys crucify me in public. |

Yeah living armor, and the drawings are good too.
If your familiar with the comic book Spawn you'd know that his costume is alive too. It doesn't look anything like your armor though.
Maybe you could do like Wallas and Gromit and make the armor do bad things while the man is asleep. Kind of like "The wrong Trousers".
That would be cool

All i can say is wow!
I really like your work, Sedone.
And i love Moebius too. By the way
Have you checked out his "Metallic memories" and "Fusion" Book? He's got tons of concept stuff and some sketches from his personal
drawing books.

Really cool Sedone, you have a very unique style. Looks a bit like moebious, but still with your own unique style.
I'm really curious to see what you will do in painter. As long as your drawing skills are that great, I'm sure it will look good even how much you smear and smudge, hehe.
Love your style!

Well, this is my progress on coloring this guy. It's really just an excuse to use my art tablet, tho. It's kind of dumb to put so much line work into the sketch if I'm just going to smear it out of existence like I did here...
I'm still working on it, but I'm open to any comments or critiques.

Incidentally...both the bad guy in Tron and Time Bandits was played by the same fella, David Warner. On a cool side note...his headpiece in Time Bandits was an intentional homage to Giger's Facehuggers. |

Holy sh!t, I never thought about that. And I just watched Dogma, in which he plays an angel. Maybe I'm obsessed with him.
...wait. Is that the same guy?
