Okay I have less than 1 year to pick a college, and I have no idea where to start. I want to do computer graphics, 3D art, or something with art. I'm a "A-B" student, and I'm taking art now and commerical art next year. I can do everything from computer, jewerly making, clay, pencil, pen, and even paint. I also love Science (Biology is my fav). So if you know of a good college please tell me about it. Location isn't really a problem as long as it's in the USA, but I'm willing to try out of the country.

I attended the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus Ohio, and although pricey, it was one of the best. I'd recommend it to any artist, in any field, looking to get a degree. (Although I don't think they have a major for making jewelry)

STAY WAY FROM EAST TENNESSEE.
No matter what you hear about the schools here, they SUCK! I know.
yeah yeah, we have the avl lab, but trust me, it's the armpit of 3d animation. They have no experienced instructors, only recycled students who end up teaching what their instructors taught them.
the art department is falling apart.

If you can afford it, go to a private school like Ringling (sp) in Florida. Look for schools that have teachers with experience in the field they are teaching. Preferably up to date experience. Also find a school that has a good recruiting rate. "How many students are actually yanked out of the school by headhunters for jobs" Look at where some of the students end up working. Alot of this depends on the individual students motivation and desire, but you can get a good feel by checking out the success rate of students. Most schools have a web site of alumni and the jobs they have.
If you have one year, start NOW looking into scholarships and loans. Art school is VERY pricey. Do a search on the net for "design schools" Some schools have the 3D stuff incorporated into their design programs while others offer full degrees in nothing but 3D animation etc.
Like I said, It's all about you! and how much effort you are willing to put into it.
good luck

Hey Morganic, what schools do you have there in Holland? I'm seriously interested in European art colleges (I'm Finnish). I don't speak Dutch though, only English and French... (and Finnish and Swedish, but I doubt those are of any use there )

sfr: I actually don't know that much about art schools.
So I'm the wrong person to ask.
It's more science and all I guess. We have some, but they're
not the harvard of art. (or else I would've
heard of them)

If all turns out well, I'll be doing computer
science next year, on the best tech school in
the country. aw yeah.
