I saw someone post thier animation of a two headed man splitting himself apart with a chainsaw. It reminded me of my first animated gif which I made when I first started doing web design at the age of 17 back in 1995. The gif animation was for a Non Profit Organization called Synergistic Planning. They sold books of information about PRE DISASTER Planning so you'll always be in good shape through a natural disaster. ANYHOW here's the small animation, I used gif construction set and Microsoft Paint on my 486 DX2 66Mhz 8Mb ram machine!.
Don't forget to post your first animation and give me feedback about mine! Rock On!

It could be a little slower. But I wonder if that has anything to do with cpu speeds from 5 years ago...?

I like the tornado gif Maybe add a cow floating in there somewhere... :P
Here's my second animated gif (I thought I'd spare you the first which was just the word 'warning' color cycled. Btw, I did many .avi/.mov/etc animations before this) this was for the 'a very fast pig' thread from awhile ago...
For information about some member animator's preferred software (2D/3D) click here.
Hey Joachim! Rather than posting a reply to your "which 2D anim software do you use" in the *** BANNER EXCHANGE *** thread, I thought I'd post it here... (and thanks for the compliment, too )
To visit a resource site mentioned in that thread for cheap/good 2D animation packages, click here. Scroll down to the 'resources' section for some programs.
I use ImageReady 2.0 (still). I think I'm going to move on from this, because it lags a lot when I've got many layers/frames... so every function delays significantly. It still has many good points - especially for Photoshop users - 'cause it's the same interface (mostly) plus a few anim gadgets/controls. I think I will look into TVPaint or some of the others listed soon, though... (Flash is cool - but I don't like the idea of the user having to download a software package just to view it - if they don't have it already - and I know you're thinkin' "Well EVERYBODY has Flash!" but I like to cater to the lowest common denominator... so everybody can see it!

That pig thread was cool Kurisu, too bad most of the pics are not linked anymore. BTW that second pig animation you made is even better than this one. |

Thanks, Drorak (<-- any significance to the name?). I thought this little piggy (went to market) was funny with just 2 frames to him That thread was really fun. There have been a few that have gotten close to the energy of it... Synj is a like spirit with wacky animations. Check it out, Beavis.
Hey DrawingBook - this is a cool thread... can I post other gif's here, as well? Or do you prefer to keep this as people's first? (I know I already broke that wind, but I figured at least this one had substance!)

There's mine, I think. I didn't start too long ago so I'm half-cheating probably.

Oh boy. Here's my first submitted material to this site. It was the first animation I EVER did, and also the first on the web
It was for a technical graphics class at Purdue University back in 97. Don't laugh
Hope this pic post works!!!!

This was done way back when I didn't even have inet access and had to use a cheap sprite animation program I found on a BBS.

Double the original size, part of an old animation... I'm surprised I found it around!
