I just installed Windows 2000 Pro, and am
experiencing some rather lengthy start times
when loading PhotoShop 5.5 (much slower than
with Win 98).
I get the gray background immediately, but it
hangs on that for at least 2 minutes then the
logo appears.
Anyone else have this problem?
Oops, the title is supposed to read "Excessive Photoshop load time in Win 2K"
not "Excessive Photoshop load tim in Win 2K"

If anything, Photoshop is a breeze for me under Win2k.
Saves me at least 5 min of save time on high resolution images.

ok, I'm not sure if this will help or not, because this is targeted towards Photoshop crashing, but maybe it'll point you in a direction. This is from an e-mail from Adobe tech e-mails, so just follow this link:

I had the same problem with PS in WinNT 4. I never figured out what was causing it. It would show the splash screen, some of the tools, hang for a minute, and then open.
I eventually reinstalled the OS and PS, and the problem went away.
Sorry I couldn't help ya more. |

10sec, toload after opening 2nd time or more.
1st time it takes longer.
I can live with 10sec. for loading
