Glad I found this forum! Finally something that comes close to what I've been attempting to do with my art, a kind of combination of 3d and post-render painting. You guys have provided a great deal of information here and it's been my pleasure to read about your latest works. To give an idea of what I do, here's the last picture I did:

The girl looks awesome EC. You said it was part rendered? |

I rendered a nude Poser figure in Poser using a green background (since Poser can't mask render, I chose a color that would be a good contrast and deleted easily in PS). Everything else was done in Photoshop.
Thanks for asking.

EC, Welcome to the board...
The pic is awsome, however, looking at the girl then the background etc, its a totaly diff contrast, what I mean is, the Girl is so well done (realistic) but the archway is very blurry/cartoony and week, this would look so much better if it was renderd in a 3D Programm perhaps.
Of course, ignore me if this was the way you intended the peice to be, I mean art is art and is no way meant to make sense at times..

Hi EC and welcome to the board!
Some "brutal" feedback to your pic if you want:
1. The female figure looks quite cool. I think I would appreciate it even more if it was all done by you.. after all its the main part of this picture..
2. As Zor said the background does not quite fit the rest of the picture.. its the lighting I guess.
3. Do I see a coulds plugin for the mist/ smoke texture there? It looks a bit generated and unnatural.
After all the whole scene is quite cool IMHO
Even though for a mummy she looks quite fresh
P.S. great you didnt ask how to post a pic here, hehe..
