Ahh those things dont work for me!!! I kil everyone!

When i try to have a few layers in one after im finished with something and wanna have say a piece flattened (but not everything flattened) I go merge down one by one klayer.. Here i get total mess because layer effects screw up and it doesnt look the same merged one by one. Merge linked i think does the same thing but all at once.
The only merging i can do without changing layer effects would be Flatten Image?!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO

is there a way? show me the light! (i kis u then)

yeah merged link works I think. I am pretty sure it merges them without changing the effect. either that or its merged down. one of them work. its possible..

just hide the layers that you don't want to be merged, then edit/duplicate image/flatten image ....uhh....i think...

or if not that works, link the layers you want to merge, then select the downermost layer...that should work...uhmm....yeah...

yeah, there's a work around. say you have 2 layers that are set on color dodge and have an opacity of 45%. you can set the mode to normal, the opacity to 100%, merge them, set the mode to color dodge again, then set the opacity for the new layer to 45%....
oh yeah, merging layers with different layer options dosen't work well.....

Shizo, after you've applied layer effects and you want them to merge but not smear together, try doing the following::

right click on the little black f circle on that layer. Then choose Create Layer. It will simply take that layer and flatten it without screwing up the effect. Then you can merge all you want.

yay
surpun, nocturnal, seas
i got the trick
I was just painting on Background layer all the time, and thats why i flattened layers ABOVE it, it kept screwing

It works good now! Another PS "bug" i found yesterday.. it happened like this

1 - i opened a GIF image in indexed colors mode
2 - copied some shape on the image
3 - switched to RGB mode
4 - pasted the shape and its 50% transparent! LOL
I dont think there is a fix, and nobody would do that kind of thing except for me lol, but try it for fun sometime,.

Yeah then i figured out why it was transparent :)
Not because it was a GIF, but because i used Select/Color Range and i put it on too fuzzy :o It somehow selected the colors transparent

datz it =8-O
