If someone takes someone elses concept sketch and makes a 3D model out of it (with their permission) then who owns the copyright, or what sorta of copyright issues are there? How about without their permission?

Without their permission you cant.. well you can hehe but better not show it to anybody!
But with their perm you can put 2 credits
design by Pre Bum, modeling by Fake Bum
i just sent mein swords sketch to Ghoul.. dunno if hell model it but even if he did, i would ask him to put my creds of course (thats a given!)

Yeah I was talking more about the rights to do things with model. Not just for displaying purposes. Say if I did a model of a someone elses concept with their permission, do I have the right to use it in say a game or showreel something?
