Hey, good job on the painting. I think a background would add more composition to the piece. If you were going for 'disturbing', you hit it on the dot, heh. Thanks for the nightmare I'll have tonight.:P

Looks nice... it definitely needs a background though, and the neck looks quite weird...

Why not have the eyelids/mouth sewn up? - not very original I know but I think that it would fit here.

Mmmm tasty.

Actually Belzero, it's supposed to be referring to the people who seem to use religious differences as an excuse to brutally murder each other

i was inspired after hearing the song Zombie, which i believe was written about a woman in northern Ireland who saw her baby blown by a bomb right in fron of her... or something

i'm very pro-choice myself

Pro-choice? That's awfully euphemistic, choice of death or life? I take it you mean death, sorry but blowing a baby up is less cruel than using drugs/disasembly to deprive a healthy child of life. I'm quite pro-choice too, choice to live, choice for freedom, others call it pro-life.
I think if we care to continue this it should be in the random musings forum, this is not really related to art. Take it there if you wish, I do not wish however, and will leave you to make the "right" choice.

Erhm... I'm all for taking someone's art and modifying it to show them something, give them a tutorial, improve their skills, or what have you (when I get around to posting some of my art, I'm going to be looking for exactly that type of thing).

Modifying someone's art simply to exploit it as a vehicle for one's beliefs seems uh... a little tacky.

Just my opinion.

"exploit it as a vehicle for one's beliefs"

Exploit- To employ to the greatest possible advantage

That[exploitation] was not what I was doing, I was expressing what I saw in the peice of art, I saw death, and a baby, that brings Abortion to my mind.

You also must look beyond jsut the technical aspects, art is not a technicallity. I hope you understand there is more to art than a tutorial to improve ones' skills.

To me that's somewhat narrow-minded.

Just my opinion though.

Oh and modifying someone's art, constitutes a modification, I could've as easily just typed the words. But I felt like bright green. And as stated no artistic modifications were made, don't be mistaken when using the word modification, there is a difference between it and addition.

shaithis is absolutely right, and dhabih needs to step in and moderate this topic.

...and perhaps moderate Belzero as well. regardless of your beliefs, this isn't the place for them, or the method to express them. grow a brain.

Um...is not art the expression of one's beliefs and inner feelings? Censoring someone's art for reasons based on their belief was what the NEA was fighting against(anyone remember "Piss Christ"?)
In my humble opinion, when I first saw that piece, abortion sprung to my mind as well. This forum is for the discussion of one's work and what the inspiration was behind it. To take away one makes the other pointless. Granted, altering someone else's piece of work is a bit brazen, but realize this. Everyone's approach to a piece of work is in someway different. The artist who exhibits in a gallery can't be there to stand next to his painting at all times and explain his motives for his work.

Therefore viewers might take away an entirely different impression then what was inherently meant. Doing so here (in the method of adding text to the piece) was Bel's way of taking away his own impression.
By suggesting moderating someone simply for that is cutting your own wrists in the process.

BUT...take the abortion/ Protestant vs. Catholic debate over to random musings.

*Salty puts away his tattered copy of the First Amendment now *
